Really well located, friendly staff. Comfy bed. Rooms are quite small and cosy but have what you need. Only downside was we couldn’t get our car through the car park entrance, but they directed us to other safe, free parking down the road
Good stay, staff helpful. Wasn’t sure where to check in. Asked at the bar. Room clean smaller than I thought. Nice breakfast. Difficult and narrow access to parking at the rear of the Inn.. Good for small cars but midsize cars side clearance is a few inches either side of the wall with side mirrors turned inwards. Street parking limited.
Stayed in the annex room 17, skylight no window, noise, radio and smells from kitchen until 10.30pm and then again early morning, radiators banging noises at 5am, room smelled musty and needed paint. But bed was super comfy, towels fluffy, bath nice and hot and staff very friendly. My friend stayed in main hotel in lovely room overlooking Main Street and so think the refurb hasn’t reached annex yet, but feel this should be reflected in the room price. It was expensive for quality of stay.
Cannot fault the cleanliness or quality of the room - we booked a two bedroom suite for myself, husband and adult daughter, it was spacious, comfortable and well equipped.

Generally, the stay was good and comfortable. All staff were polite, helpful, and willing to serve.
But to claim a 4 star status, one should not expect little things like empty salt shakers two days running, leaking plug-stoppers (couldn't keep a bowl of water) difficult lock on bathroom door. It's not nice to keep mentioning such items to staff.
One sensed hotel majored on restaurant (good) and hotel secondary, latter not being kept as well as it could.
Shame, because the potential is there. Owners need to "not walk past poor quality."
It is a lovely hotel nice clean modern rooms great location
Breakfast has a good choice and if you have dinner at the dragon inn the food is great would recommend it….
Clean and comfortable in a charming Welsh town. Easy to walk to stores and dining. Had breakfast (included in the price) as well as dinner at the Inn. Breakfast was average. Unfortunately dinner was disappointing-3 of us had fish and chips. The fish had the skin on-first time this has happened in 3 trips to the UK and multiple fish and chips. And the fish was mushy and the breading/coating was soggy.
Had a lovely 3 nights stay at the Dragon Inn ,we went to the Abergavenny food festival and visited the Red Kite feeding station at Gigrin farm ,Breakfast good choice and a good menu in the evening
Dragon Inn was a quaint Inn. Staff, food and accommodations were lovely. A very nice spot. Our drive down from Holyhead to Crickhowell was very picturesque. Be sure to stop in at the lovely stone village of Dogelleu and explore its pubs and charms
A hidden gem - we have been going to Crickhowell to see family for many years but did not know there was accommodation at the Dragon until it popped up on Hotels.com. Marvellous food, spacious suit of rooms, wonderful. We will come back and will recommend to all.
Tucked away down the end of a row of shops and pubs, the dragon and its staff have plenty of charm. We had a small but very cosy and comfortable room up in the roof. Very quiet and a lovely stay. Food is great, especially the chicken and mash - the perfect comfort food.
Really lovely pub, good room, great food and lovely service from all the staff! Only slight negative is the very tight entrance to the car park. There is road parking outside though if you have a wide vehicle! Overall a great stay
