I was pleasantly surprised to find Hotel Executive right across the street from the train station and one block from Centro. The stop for the local bus was a 1 minute walk, the long-distance bus about a 5 minute walk.
Even though I was early, my room was ready and check-in was fast and smooth. The man (in the morning) at the front desk gave me a printout from Google Maps when I asked for a city map....it was totally useless. I walked around town (which isn't very large) on my own to get my bearings.
When I returned to the hotel, Salvina was at the desk and she gave me a detailed map of the city (computer printout). Salvina has so much energy and enthusiasm, so helpful with details of Agrigento, Valle dei Templi, restaurants (her recommendations were spot on, great food). I wish I knew the name of the man at the desk in the afternoon and overnight; he was very helpful and so pleasant. He recommended I take the bus vs the train to Catania which saved me a lot of time.
Room was clean and bed comfortable. My room overlooked the Mediterranean and I was treated to gorgeous sunsets.
