Our experience here was magical, an abrupt switch from several very urbane days (and also wonderful) days in Palermo. The silence and beauty, coupled with the warmth of the host and staff, made us feel part of a family, rather than hotel guests. The food -- all from ingredients grown on the farm (except the meat; the wonderful owner is apparently a vegetarian, and obtains meat locally but off the farm), as well as the superb wines -- also from the farm's's own vineyards, were a total treat. True of both dinner and breakfast. The accommodations are simple, clean and comfortable, and appropriately NOT luxurious. All in all, our two night stay here was a total treat. One warning -- it is a commitment to get there, as the roads are small and rutted. After a few ins and outs, however, we managed them effortlessly, if slowly. (PS: this is a great base from which to visit Segesta and Erice, which we did easily in one day.) Highly recommended.
