Found this place by accident, and we are so glad that we did! I can't find anything to complain about; the interior of the house is stunning, the owner welcomed us in person and gave us a great historical tour. We stayed in the Arthur Brown room (and hope to to again!) which was luxurious, spacious, quiet and private. For roughly the same price as a chain hotel, we felt like rich folk. I wish I could live there for 6 months and write gothic fiction or something. Monster fireplaces, intricate woodwork. The place is really something.
There was a real complimentary breakfast included - fresh yogurt parfait, blueberry pancakes with crispy bacon and fresh coffee with real flavor. It was not a depressing shrink-wrapped muffin hotel breakfast.
Plenty of easy parking, lots of cozy spots for sitting. The grounds and the garden are inviting.
It's a convenient spot to launch day trips to Littleton or Laconia. It's very close to grocery, highway, restaurants, cinema.
We're already talking about planning our next stay there.
