Casa Maracaibo is located 7 mins walk to San Cristobal beach and 15 minutes walk to the west of the town centre. The house is one of seventeen in this small urbanisation, and has its own parking space and garage. In a town where parking can be a problem, there is never that problem here.

The house enjoys views over the whole of Almuñecar from east to west, with the sea and Playa San Cristobal straight ahead. The front terraces of the house enjoy sun all day. The pool is two minutes walk away and is surrounded by lush grass with lemon and avocado trees for shade. The pool is open now (April 4th 2021) and there are no restrictions on its use, apart from making noise in unsocial hours. The urbanisation is small and this year 2021 we expect very few guests staying in the other houses, so it is quite likely you will have the pool for yourselves some of the time.

The beach is a seven minute walk away, and there are restaurants and bars here for all tastes, as well as a variety of shops and places to hire scuba diving gear or reserve excursions.

Casa Maracaibo se encuentra a 7 minutos a pie de playa de San Cristóbal y 15 minutos al oeste del centro de la ciudad. La casa es uno de diecisiete en esta pequeña urbanización y tiene su propio aparcamiento y garaje. En una ciudad donde el estacionamiento puede ser un problema, nunca hay ese problema. Tiene piscina comunitaria que nunca esta muy ocupada, con mucha cesped alreadedor para tumbarse.

Inside the house there is space for living, dining and relaxing. There is a well equipped kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, washing machine, dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine and cooker. There is a lot of cupboard space, a walk in pantry with fridge-freezer and plenty of work-surface.

The living room is separated from the kitchen by the dining area, which makes the ground floor light and airy, benefiting as it does from double doors to a ground floor patio.

The terraces have sunloungers (upstairs) and a table and chairs under shade (ground floor) in case the sun is particularly fierce. To the front of the living room is a TV with basic British satellite channels, DVD/CD and stereo system. WiFi internet is included in the rental.

The living room has air-conditioning and the upper level has fans and French windows to enable the breeze to pass through, as well as roller blinds to allow you to sleep in the mornings without being awoken by the sun. The view from the upper sun terrace is magnificent.

The upstairs bathroom has a large bath/shower, WC, and washbasin, as well as hairdryer and cupboard space. The downstairs is a shower-room with WC and washbasin. The hot water is supplied by a gas hot water heater. The two bedrooms have a double bed and twin beds, and an extra bed in the living room can be used to sleep one more person more people (by prior arrangement).

This is a very comfortable house in a quiet location with panoramic views of the beach and Almuñecar. If you don't want to walk to the beach, you can descend with your car and park nearer if you wish, using the car parking available one block behind.

The house is well positioned for access to the old coast road, which enables you to drive to Malaga or Granada in less than an hour in each direction. Nearby there is also the Peña Escrita country park, Marina del Este (a lovely area to walk and look at the yachts), and the village of Salobreña, featuring a dramatic Moorish castle perched on the edge of a hill overlooking the sea.

Local attractions include Almuñecar Old Town and castle (a great shopping and rambling area), the 'Loro Sexi' bird park, the Parque el Majuelo with its Roman fish salting works, and Playa del Altillo with its wonderful sculptures along the promenade. The castle overlooks Parque El Majuelo, which is a beautiful park, venue for special events every week, including the Almuñecar Jazz Festival in July.

All of Granada's attractions are within easy reach of the house, as are the various beaches and resorts of the Costa Tropical. Last but not least, the south facing villages of the Sierra Nevada are also a short drive away. This area, known as the Alpujarra, has been written about by Gerald Brenan ('South from Granada') and Chris Stewart ('Driving Over Lemons'). Granada is the capital of the province with the same name, situated in the eastern part of the region of Andalusia. Geographical and scenic diversity charactizes the land. There is the coastal area with its warm climate; the extensive, fertile Genil plain; and the mountainous regions with a colder climate, where we find the 3,481 meter Mulhacén, the biggest peak on the peninsula of Spain.

The city of Granada is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains at the confluences of the Darro and Genil rivers. Its unique history has bestowed it with an artistic grandeur embracing Moorish palaces and Christian Renaissance treasures. As the last Moorish capital on the Iberian peninsula, it also holds great symbolic value.

La casa goza de vistas sobre el conjunto de Almuñecar de este a oeste, con el mar y la Playa de San Cristóbal hacia adelante. Las terrazas delanteras de la casa disfrutan de sol todo el día. La playa está a 7 minutos a pie lejos y allí son restaurantes y bares para todos los gustos, así como una variedad de tiendas y lugares para rentar equipo de buceo o reservar excursiones. Dentro de la casa hay espacio para vivir, comer y relajarse. Hay una cocina bien equipada con encimera de gas, horno eléctrico, lavadora, lavavajillas, tostadora, cafetera y cocina. Hay un montón de espacio de armario, pasear en despensa con nevera y un montón de trabajo a la superficie. El salón está separado de la cocina de la zona de comedor, que hace que la planta baja, amplio y luminoso, beneficiando a como lo hace desde puertas dobles a un patio de la planta. Las terrazas tienen tumbonas (arriba) y una mesa y sillas bajo sombra (planta baja) en caso de que el sol es particularmente feroz. Al frente de la sala de estar es una televisión con canales vía satélite británico, DVD/CD y video. Internet WiFi está incluido en el alquiler. El salón tiene aire acondicionado y el nivel superior tiene ventiladores y ventanas francesas para permitir que la brisa pase a través, así como estores enrollables para permitirle dormir por las mañanas sin ser despertado por el sol. La vista desde la terraza superior es magnífica. El baño tiene una gran bañera/ducha, WC y lavabo, así como espacio de armario y secador de pelo. Esta es una casa muy confortable en una zona tranquila con vistas panorámicas a la playa de Almuñecar. Si no quieres caminar a la playa, se puede descender con su coche y el parque más cercano si lo desea, utilizando el aparcamiento disponible una cuadra detrás.

La casa está bien posicionada para el acceso a la antigua carretera de la costa, que le permite conducir a Málaga o Granada en menos de una hora en cada dirección. Cerca hay también el Peña Escrita country park, Marina del Este (una zona muy bonita para caminar y ver los barcos), y el pueblo de Salobreña, con un espectacular castillo morisco encaramado al borde de una colina con vistas al mar. Las atracciones locales incluyen el casco antiguo de Almuñecar y Castillo (un gran centro comercial y zona de senderismo), el parque de las aves 'Loro Sexi', el Parque el Majuelo con sus trabajos de salazón de pescado romano y Playa del Altillo con sus maravillosas esculturas a lo largo del paseo marítimo. El castillo domina el Parque El Majuelo, que es un hermoso parque, lugar para eventos especiales cada semana, incluyendo el Festival de Jazz de Almuñecar en julio. Ein Ferienreihenhaus mit wunderbarer Aussicht. Der Pool ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Zwei Strände sind gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Weitere Ziele in der Umgebung (Granada, Malaga, ...) sind mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub.
