Cute & cozy, but not as advertised
We booked this property for the Meredith ice fishing derby weekend and overall was not impressed. The online listing made it look PERFECT for us and it did not meet our expectations. The house definitely does not sleep 14 comfortably, yes technically it can sleep 14, but not comfortably. There’s only 3 bedrooms. The rest sleep on pullout couches and a trundle bed on the porch. Upon arriving, not much was shoveled so we were able to utilize the fire pit or grill unless we shoveled. The hot tub had a film on the water, mold on the cover and appeared as if it had not been maintained in a while (although management stated it was serviced a day before our arrival). We were told there was a drip coffee maker and planned for accordingly. Upon arrival there was a keruig, which was broken. Management did respond quickly and got a new one to the house within a few hours. The heat is very irregular through the house. The couple who slept in the bed on the porch froze the first night and ended up buying a heated blanket. The family in the top floor roasted because it was so hot. Lastly, we did not have direct access to the ice like we thought, which was very important to us. I will give credit where it is deserved though. This house is quite cute and cozy. I think it would be a better fit in the summer rather than the winter and for less people, maybe 10. Check in and contacting management for support was easy and they were quick to respond.

Alton stay
The house was in a good location. The pictures made it look larger than it is. Rooms are small for a large group. The house was not cleaned well before our stay: dishes were dirty, floors and carpet not cleaned, and stove top was dirty. Also, could not get stove top on second level to work. Would have been nice to a have a table to eat as a group.

Lakehouse Stay 6 adults/6 kids
Location is very convenient - grocery within a 10 min ride, easy access to the Lake, dining, and popular Winnipesaukee villages around the lake. The amenities were generous - including towels and linens at the location, travel shampoo/condition/soaps available, fully stocked kitchen with dish soap and other kitchen tools available. The kitchen is tight and the central artery of the house, which made it difficult with 12 people. I'd recommend bringing a mattress pad or something for the pull out sofas which account for 2 of the 4 double beds in the home. Overall, a positive experience, but could use some updating to add comfort to the stay.

Too tight for 14 people as advertised. It's good for 2 families (max 10 people). There are not many sleeping places as mentioned. There are no locks to the bathrooms which was very inconvenient

Fine stay for older kids and adults
The check in process didn’t go as expected. The house was unlocked, which ended up fine but just was a little weird. The place was clean and the host was INCREDIBLY responsive. We had different expectations from the pictures online in terms of waterfront. There technically is water in front, but we had little kids and thought they would be able to play outside in the water, but it’s mostly mud and sticks, no real sandy shallow area. The older kids were good getting the paddle boards in and out of the water, but it’s definitely not easy… the canoe is interesting taking it in and out. The access to water from what’s allowed is small, but it is manageable… just not super easy. The host did let us use another boating area across the road, which was PERFECT for ALL the kids. Very pleased with how accommodating he was. The additional paddle board rental process was flexible and affordable, which was great. Overall a fine experience. The bunk room needs a AC unit.

Okay stay but could use improvements
Property could use a few updates. The porch was rotting near the grill which we noticed upon arrival. Unfortunately, a foot went through it. I alerted the property owner right away. Steve called me immediately and I asked for a board to put over it. I did not hear from him again and we did not recieve anything to cover the hole. If we had kids with us, this would have been a huge hazard. The bunk beds were a little sketchy. Low ceiling and very rickety. We were only able to use the bottom bunks. The listing is for 14 people but it does not sleep 14 adults comfortablely. We also found dirty dishes in the oven. Steve was quick to respond and gave us addionational trash barrels when requested. We tried to use the dock that was shown on the map that we were allowed to be on but were yelled at by the neighbors. Steve was helpful when it came to helping us find additional parking. The hot tub, fire pit and karaoke machine made for a fun weekend with friends.

perfect casual accommodations for group
If you have a large family or group traveling and just need a casual place to stay, this house is perfect. The host was great to have delivered to our doorstep a casserole dish! Bluetooth speaker, microphones, the keyboard and guitar made for a fun karaoke night. Cons: -decks weren’t shoveled -hot tub appeared old and dirty or rusted in spots so we didn’t use

Great winter weekend getaway
Had a great winter weekend with our group of 8 adults and 2 toddlers. The house is cozy - you could put two more adults in the bunk room but more would likely feel crowded. Super close to Gunstock and some great winter hiking, and we walked over to the Alton Bay winter festival. Hot tub was perfect. Only downside is there's no dining table for the group, but there are plenty of chairs and places to be so as long as you're not doing a formal sit -down dinner it's great. Would love to come back, winter or summer!

Great Photography
Working with Vacanza was very easy. The host was very quick to help with providing additional parking as well as an alternative boat slip for my 20'x8.5' pontoon across the street due to the water level of the lake as we are currently in a drought. The onsite slip was very tight with only a few inches to spare on either side and very shallow (drought.) The main living room area has been updated nicely. Stove was missing from 2nd floor but we didn't need it. Main kitchen is a strip so not a lot of room with a few people in there. The neighbor was a little cranky the first day but waving at us by the end of the week. Host was very receptive to feedback regarding the stairway treads. Swimming off the Boatslip was not desirable. Grill and outside area was great. Kayak used as well. Within walking distance to some ice cream and foot. All in all for the price this was great week on Winni and the host was very good. Pic #17 may have snuck in from one of their other properties but all other photos are accurate.

As advertised and had a great time!
The property is as advertised. It is right on the water, but we did not bring a boat so cannot speak to that aspect. We appreciated being able to bring our dogs and enjoyed the backyard fire pit, jacuzzi and porch. Having two refrigerators was a definite bonus. We had 10 teens/adults and fit everyone comfortably. There is a lot to experience in the area and the kids liked walking to get ice cream at night. The a/c units were sufficient and kept the house cool enough for the summer days. The pantry had many “extras” that were nice and there were plenty of dishes between the two kitchens. If you are looking for fancy, this is not your place. If you want a place right on the lake with several spaces to spread out and need a place to recharge for your next day’s adventure, this place is for you! It was clean, but older and could use a good deep clean. However, it’s understandable that when the place is rented out non-stop, it is hard to accomplish. Steven was very easy to communicate with and extremely prompt. The cleaners didn’t leave enough sets of towels and sheets for everyone in our party and Steven immediately rectified the shortage. He went above and beyond with his customer service. We had a terrific week and appreciated the location. Another added convenience was the automated lock on the front door so there were no keys to lose or worry who had them if we split up and arrived at the house at different times. Thank you for sharing your lake house!

The house was a little bit of a let down after seeing the pics online. It's rather dated and run down esp upstairs. But it was clean inside with plenty of fresh linens. Furniture not the most comfortable, but alas we spent most of our time outdoors. All in all a decent experience.
