It sits 1,600 kilometres to the southwest of Tokyo, the national capital of Japan.
Spend at least a couple of hours enjoying the cool ocean breeze at Mission Beach or Kise Beach.

If you'd like to do a bit of exploring, add a day trip to Zamami to your plan. This locality is 2 kilometres to the northeast and features the Tokashiki Port and Aharen Beach. After some more ideas? Aka is 4 kilometres to the south of Ama and is known for Aharen enchi Observatory and the Aka Ferry Terminal.
Spend a morning or afternoon visiting Shurijo Castle, Makishi Public Market and Naminoue Beach. They are all close to the centre of Naha, 40 kilometres to the east. Looking for more? The Tsuboya Pottery Museum and DFS Galleria Okinawa should also be on your travel list.
