The property had major plumbing issues that made it uninhabitable. About 9 p.m. we started hearing gurgling sounds in the sink followed by the smell of sewer gasses in our room. It seemed to stop, and we turned on the exhaust fan in the bathroom and turned up the A/C fan, which seemed to dissipate the smell. We were very tired , so we decided to report the incident in the morning. However, at about 1.30 a.m. we were awakened by louder gurgling sounds and a much worse sewer smell. We closed the drains on the sink and bathtub, which stopped the gurgling in our room. Once again the exhaust fan and A/C fan helped reduce the smell. After about an hour, we were able to go back to sleep. In the morning, we had to keep the drains closed, or the gurgling and gas returned. We were afraid to use the shower. We reported this problem in person to the front desk, but the staff person seemed unconcerned. She said she would report it. We also reported a large area of vomit outside the lobby door from the parking lot. The clerk said she would call housekeeping to clean it, but when we were checking out over an hour later, it was still there, and there was a big footprint in it where someone had stepped in it on the way into the lobby. It was disgusting. We noticed other areas of concern, but they pale next to the sewer gasses, the vomit on the floor and the lack of concern or action by staff, so we’ll just stop with those.
