Great hotel in a great location
The hotel is in a great location, walkable to many places and close to multiple public transport stops. The room is small, but it’s manageable. The front desk staff is super friendly and willing to help. We would definitely stay here again!

Hotel is very conveniently located near tram transport, museum square and other attractions. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom was also spacious. There was a large selection at breakfast to please all tastes. We had a pleasant stay and could certainly recommend this property.

We stayed in Catalonia Vondel hotel for three nights. The room was old and dirty. The cover of the mattress was dusty. When you do the shower all the water come out the washroom was all wet.

I did extensive research on finding a hotel that would suit my needs in Amsterdam. I decided that Catalonia Vondel would fit the bill. I landed around 9:30am and took the airport bus to the hotel. Uber is expensive in Amsterdam and the bus drops you off really close to the hotel. I arrived around 10:30am and was informed that the room wasn’t ready yet because it had to be cleaned. No problem. We left our bags at the front desk and went out to kill some time. When we came back to the hotel, the room was ready. We went upstairs and the first thing that I noticed was the dusty mini fridge. This bothered me because if my room wasn’t ready due to cleaning, it should be clean when I arrive. The mini fridge is black, so it is obvious when there’s dust and the cleaning person just ignored it. Dust also accumulates after not being cleaned for awhile. So, that dust had been sitting there from previous guests. This grossed me out a bit because I started wondering how clean everything else was. Besides this incident, the hotel was great for our needs. The room was small but we knew that it would be. The hotel itself is quiet and located in a quiet neighborhood. When people are walking through the hallways, you can hear them. But the hotel isn’t full of rowdy of party people. We walked everywhere from the hotel. The street car and bus are nearby if you aren’t into walking. It was a good choice. I think for what I paid, it was a great value. Just need to improve on the cleaning.

Sleep without breakfast
I slept very well, as I always do at this hotel. It's quietly tucked away from the centre of the city. It would be nice that when coming down for breakfast at 9.50 that there is still breakfast, as both mornings before 10am it had run out. Paying full price to scrape around for it is not good, especially as breakfast finishes at 10.30am.

This is in a perfect location with tons of great restaurant and bar options, close access to some great museums, and a metro stop very close. The staff were very helpful and the room worked out perfectly

Good room and good service.
Good hotel and good services but one thing I didn’t like upon checking in was trying to convince me to move from my original reservation of a suite to premium room. Whilst I appreciate it may not have been much of a difference it sounded like a downgrade then an upgrade.

Central location especially for museums, and reasonable walking distance to other attractions. Many restaurant options. Hotel is an interesting art deco building, rooms are comfortable but a bit small. Staff is very friendly, efficient and helpful. Great breakfast buffet.
