I just wanted to share my recent experience at this hotel. Our stay was brief, and I initially felt that giving it a one-star rating was unfair. The exterior seemed worn down when we arrived, but I understand we are in Alaska. The front desk area, however, was quite lovely, with some recent renovations that gave the lobby area and hallways an updated look. It's important to note that there is no elevator, and I'm not sure if there's anyone available to assist with bags, as we weren't offered help to our room. Despite this, we traveled relatively light with two 40-lb backpacks and a small carry-on-sized roller.
Once we got to our room, it became evident that the renovations did not extend to the rooms. We immediately noticed an unusual odor; the carpet seemed unclean and dated. The bed is so-so. The shower did not drain properly. Coffee and possibly ketchup were splattered on the wall. Our window view faced the side of the building, which might not have been a problem if the room wasn't so expensive and they offered a complimentary breakfast.
Our stay was less than 12 hours, and we did not have time to eat at the restaurant. The hotel does offer a free shuttle to the airport.
