After crossing the bridge our vacation was in full swing. Perfect home for Alaskans looking for a Girdwood getaway.

Fun little cabin
We enjoyed our time at this little get-away. The hot tub was a really nice touch. We also enjoyed the Netflix, kitchen, and unique sleeping spaces. Downside - the bathroom door is on rollers and little loud, particularly then you are trying to go in the middle of the night! We also needed more batteries for the TV remote. The refrigerator also had a strong, iffy odor. A lot of these things are pretty usual for a rental, but also fixable for the next guests. Thank you!

Cozy Cabin in the Woods
Property was great overall! No issues with the home and the management company was prompt on responding to any questions. The only downfall was that it was not as private as we thought. Hot tub sits out on front porch which is within eye shot of the two story neighboring property’s that sit right on top of it.

Hot tub was great! Bring a mouse trap and extra bedding.
The hot tub was the highlight. The dwelling has charm. We appreciated the hobbit entry door with the mustache. Overall our stay was fine. It was nice to get away for the weekend. However, there are a few constructive critiques that I would like to provide. As someone who provides a similar service, communication is key! This is respectfully lacking. I understand that there is a property management vendor that oversees this dwelling and there were multiple canned messages sent but I wanted to actually talk with someone. I emailed several times but received no response. Finally a couple days before I received a text message and sent one back and someone responded. It was great! We had a need while at the property and I sent messages to the same number but no response. We even drove to the property management location but no one was there. I called and text the number on the door but no one ever responded. It was frustrating. We dropped something on the floor and it rolled under the kitchen counter. My sister went to grab it first pulled out dirt and other yuck but not what she dropped. She then reached down again and felt something furry. She freaked, jumped up, and grabbed her phone to use the flashlight. She shined it under and there was a dead mouse. We were grossed out! About 30 minutes later, I was making dinner and another mouse ran across my foot. I was done! The wiring/lighting is funky. You have to flip quite a few switches to turn on what you expect. Bring extra bedding, especially if you sleep in the loft. It is just really hard. It’s outside of their control but there are a lot to dogs running around and thus, doing their business in their yard and the driveway. We cleaned up poo upon our arrival and throughout the weekend so no one stepped in it. It may sound like a lot of complaints but it’s more of an opportunity to create awareness. You cannot address/fix what you do not know.

very nice
It was clean everything that was needed for the stay. Nice and comfortable, maybe the only thing negative would be the amount of chlorine that is in the hot tub but it was very enjoyable. Will stay there again!!

Private hot tub was nice. The property and cabin was run down. This place has lots of untapped potential. Disappointing!

BEWARE
Upon check in we were told the house has an interesting history, so of course we had to ask about it. We were told that before pot was legal in the state it was an illegal grow house. While that was an interesting fact, it's not much of a marketing point for most people. Upon arrival at our weed mansion (and after a five hour drive) the first discovery we made (after the profound cigarette stench) was a completely non-functioning toilet. We went back to where we checked in to report the issue, and the desk staff said "oh, we thought they fixed that for the last guest" so obviously they KNEW they had a plumbing problem. They tried to reach the maintenance man but he was already gone for the day, so we were told someone would be calling us (nobody did). However, her boss told us later that he tried to reach us but couldn't get through. Okay, we had no trouble with our phone during our visit, and even if he couldn't get through once, it didn't occur to him to call back? Whatever. At about 10 the next morning a maintenance man shows up unannounced (very nice guy) who also acknowledges that the house owners AND management company KNOW they need to replace the toilet (something the management company of course denies). In addition to the epic toilet fiasco and cigarette smells (they said they would send housekeeping over to help freshen but never did) the place is very poorly ventilated and stuffy. The carpet is shabby, lighting is not great, and there is a lot of furniture jammed into a fairly small space. In addition, the entire bathroom should be napalmed and redone (especially the toilet). Out of curiosity I went back to look at the property reviews and admittedly most of them were very strong, BUT one of them also mentioned the toilet struggles, so clearly the management company had knowledge of ongoing problems. In summary, the house itself was so-so, but the management company (Vacasa) is inept and has zero customer service, and I will NEVER again rent a property that is run by this management outfit. They are a total bunch of slum lords who think it is fine to rent you a place to stay without a functioning toilet, and zero remorse over the situation they are fine with putting you in...so BEWARE.

Nice and cozy
The place does not look like much from the outside, but the inside was very comfortable , with full kitchen and washer/ dryer. We were very tired from a full day of hiking, and we went to bed shortly after arriving. It’s the only one of the places (out of six that we stayed at through out the week) that has black out shades so we felt normal going to sleep with day light still out (being from Florida). The winter creek trail with hand pulled tram (a lot of fun) is near by and we saw a bear just as we were leaving the area. We just shut the engine and watched it from 30 feet away. The only thing of concern about the place was there were a lot of mosquitoes when we arrived around 8pm. We had to hurry into the house and shut the door. Great stay otherwise.
