Welcome to the Maisonnette du Thiou!

In the heart of the old town of Annecy, in a pedestrian zone, you will benefit from a rare and privileged location just on the edge of the Canal du Thiou. Historic building of the old town, dating from the Middle Ages, the stone wall of the corridor of the maisonette was initially part of the outer enclosure of the castle. The very last vestige of the guard road is still visible just above the entrance door of the maisonette. The accommodation is accessible by a confidential and quiet inner courtyard, common to all inhabitants of the place.

The maisonette remained for a long time a shed, annex of the notable Charmoisy home, listed as a remarkable building of the city and certainly one of the most colorful and photographed. In the second half of the 20th century, the house was transformed into a dwelling.
In 2021, the maisonette is completely renovated and modernized while retaining all the charm of the old.
The accommodation is located on the ground floor.

The maisonette will allow you to enjoy the charms of the old town, at the edge of the canal, 200 meters from the lake and close to all places of interest, while remaining quiet. The space in front of the entrance door where three steps lead directly to the canal will allow you to rest or have a meal.
The accommodation is designed to comfortably accommodate two couples or a couple with one or two children. The maisonette has two double bedrooms, each with a dedicated bathroom. The entrance hallway on the ground floor distributes the toilet, a first bedroom and its independent bathroom.
The fully equipped kitchen sits centrally on the first floor, topped by a mezzanine hosting a sitting area with TV. Some additional steps allow access to the upper room, former dovecote, and its integrated water. The accommodation is equipped with an umbrella bed for babies.

⚠️ Unless indicated: in France the bathroom is composed (of a shower or a bath), the toilet is departed. We remain at your disposal for any further information on this subject.

- Linen (towels and sheets except umbrella bed) is provided.
- Please always lock the large double wooden door of the courtyard so that it remains calm and avoid the influx of the curious.
- Places are peaceful and must remain peaceful. Parties are not allowed.
- Animals are not allowed in the house.
- The interior of the house is strictly non-smoking. You can smoke outside, in front of the front door, facing the three steps that lead to the canal.
- The inner courtyard is common to all residents of the Charmoisy house. You have at your disposal bike racks against the main building and a table for 4 people.
- Bins are hidden in a corner of the yard. Yellow bin for recycling. Grey bin for other bins. The glass must be placed in a dedicated container of the city, in the rue de l'Ile, starting on the left from the double gate of the courtyard, just before the ramp to the castle.
- Don’t hesitate to water the flowers in the downstairs bedroom and on both sides of the front door, a watering can is available in the cottage.
- There is no car access at the foot of the building. The nearby city car parks are mostly paid for (with packages for several days). The nearest free car park is the Sainte-Claire car park.
Make yourself comfortable in this apartment, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private patio. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
