Unique hotel/museum
Gorgeous hotel, with interspersed museum exhibits. Additionally, there is a spa, restaurant (delicious food!), pool, and a high end chocolate shop on the hotel grounds! Also I have to say, the water pressure is AMAZING in the showers. A very tranquil and relaxing escape from the city. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone visiting Antigua.

Peace and tranquil in Antigua
We enjoyed our stay so much and did not want to leave. The atmosphere is so peaceful and transcendent. The staff was accommodating, polite and anticipated our every need. It was like stepping back in time, but with all the modern comforts. We loved it.

Unfortunate Check-in Experience
We had requested to check in an hour early a couple of days prior to our arrival at Casa Santo Domingo & were told to call the day of arrival which we did. We arrived at 12:30 on Saturday 12/7/24 at the hotel & again requested to be able to get in our room at 2:00 to be able to change for a wedding we were attending at 3:00. We had lunch & our room was ready at 2:00; however we weren’t allowed to go inside until the housekeeping supervisor said we could at 2:30 after pleading with the front desk for over a 1/2 hour. We saw other guests checking into their rooms at 2:00 without incident. We were a little late to the wedding but mostly we were very disappointed at how we were treated at the front desk & by the housekeeping supervisor. The experience was unfortunate & very unexpected for a 5 star hotel.

Everything was clean, in order and with someone helping. Staff are always in good disposition to help, the room was excellent and the food at the restaurant super yummy. Consistent as we have stayed here in the past and it has new things to see. Great job Casa Santo Domingo.

They notified me of construction the day I was checking in. They supposed to start at 9 am but they started at 7:30 am. All the gentleman at the front desk were extremely polite and professional. The short girl with glasses was a huge disappointment, Spa staff was ok below average. They claim 5 stars but they give you a 2 star treatment. I would not go back. Porta and Posada will treat you much much better.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels in the world, an absolute must to visit even if you’re not staying on the property. Have a spa day, eat dinner, have a drink…just visit it and it’ll feel like you’ve traveled back in time.

This property is one of the most beautiful hotels in the world. Coming back from a fun night out in Antigua to the hotel is an experience in itself, take a lap around the property at night and you’re transported back in time to the colonial era, it’s surreal.

Options for food was extremely limited. Staff knocked on the door at night when not expected. Multiple areas were not allowed to be accessed do to other events. Directions on to get to place were unclear. The staff was extremely friendly.
