Beautiful surroundings, tucked away on the Lakeside as the name suggests. Nice quiet and peaceful. A little bit of a walk into the centre (15-20 minutes), but also possible to wave down a tuk tuk once you get to the main road (about 150 SL rupees to the clocktower). The rooms were big and clean. I'm a solo traveller, but was given a room that had two double beds, aircon and a ceiling fan. The shower was hot during the day, more by accident than design. I think that the water came from a black tank on the roof, which heated up during the day!?! The guy who runs the place doesn't actually stay there, but can be contacted on WhatsApp. The only problem being that it sometimes takes a little while for him to get your message. The other problem with this place is that the WiFi seems to be controlled by the young couple who live next door and that they always turn it off at night. I didn't mind this, except that sometimes they forget to turn it back on again in the morning.
