Dirt road/drive. Not a lot of room for navigation, but enough room to move around. The house was quaint and perfect. Check in was an envelope left on a table. Perfect! Serves a purpose for a one night stay. No refrigerator and limited outlets.
Would stay again!

This was a quaint, old inn. Nicely appointed antique decor. NO AC made for uncomfortable sleeping. Coded access, so we never saw anyone. Bed comfort was just ok.
This is a simple but quaint no-hassle in. You let yourself in and that's it. The rooms are friendly and cozy, everything is clean and in good shape.
All window views and very nice and calming – it's all garden with huge trees (check out the magnificent old white oak!!).
It is very quiet since it's off the main road.
If you are looking for an uncomplicated and relaxed stay, this is it!
June and Duane were great hosts. The coffee was excellent and the homemade muffins on Sunday were a pleasant surprise. Thank you for a wonderful weekend. We will be back in the fall.

Poor lighting on the pathway leading up to the front door, and stones are not even, so could be a hazard.
Perfect place to stay. Lovely proprietor. Made to feel welcome. Spacious room with bath. Dog friendly. Spacious yards. Hot coffee and a baked treat each morning. Convenient to downtown Black Mountain.
Loved the charm of the place.
The grounds were incredible. The views were too. The building was very old and very cool to spend the night in. The staff was very helpful and informative. Thanks
This is NOT a bed and breakfast. We received coffee and dated fruit on a table in the morning. With no outdoor lighting, it was difficult to walk to the car. The top floor suite had an unusual door covering stairs that did not enable you to lock it when you left the room leaving the room exposed. Shower was unusable. Space heater was so loud that we had to turn it off during a 30 degree night. We basically rented a bed for the night which was actually comfortable.
We arrived at the dark, had a seamless check in. The room had a door at one end with no lock, and a door in the middle of the room coming up the stairs that was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. I did not feel safe in this room. In addition to that, I never saw breakfast this morning nor anyone there not even a cup of coffee. I was very disappointed in this experience.
We stayed at a B&B that didn’t serve breakfast. We only saw the host once who didn’t provide a key to our room. The loft room was awkward and the shower was so small I had to kneel to get under it. The old gravel driveway was difficult to maneuver and there was inadequate lighting outside the residence.
The Inn-keeper was nice, but everything else about our stay was disappointing. The room was tiny; there was no room to sit in our room, the shower didn’t work, the tub took 30 minutes to drain, some of the plugs didn’t work and/or were behind furniture that had to be moved. We would not recommend this Inn.

Cool Old Word Digs for the Young, Adventurous
This is a pretty cool place, if you can tolerate very uneven old floors. We found them amusing. Our bedroom floor was dirty with a bunch of junk under the bed, but the private bathroom was quite clean. In our room, there was no place for hanging clothes, except one bathroom door hook. No breakfast or snacks provided. Our bed was super sunk in and uncomfortable--felt like sleeping in a hammock with three people, but some of the other beds looked better. Because the floors creek, there are (generally tolerable) indoor and outdoor noises. Otherwise, not bad. It has a quaint, old-world atmosphere. Definitely not handicap friendly . . . lots of stairs and places to trip. The Inn Keeper was pleasantly aloof and disinterested; never intrusive. Happily, there were no televisions!
This is a comfortable and homey early nineteenth century inn that has been nicely renovated. The owner, June, is delightful and welcoming, serving fresh coffee and pastries each morning. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back again.
This was the perfect place to stay for a brief solo trip! The staff were so kind and had recommendations for restaurants. It was a very quiet and peaceful place to relax and not too far from Asheville or hiking spots.
