I’ll start off with the good. It is in an amazing location! It is within walking distance of the main attractions and the main train station (Monastiraki). It is relatively easy to find.
Now the bad. To begin with, they left the window to the bathroom wide open for the mosquitos to get in, we were trying to kill every one of them throughout the night. The shower head pressure was okay, but half of the water was coming out of the other end towards the handle. Now, these things are minor.
The issues that really broke the camels back was the fact that this is more of a hostel than a ‘loft’ or an air B&B, there is no one to contact when there are questions, and there was no one that made us aware of the fact that there was no one to contact if there were questions so we were just left to our own demises, especially in cases of emergencies. The A/C remote didn’t work (or we didn’t know how to use, which we messaged about but no one got back to us to help us use it). We’re from Canada, we don’t use A/Cs. So we were sitting in a room that is over 25 degrees. Now, you can argue that ‘we could have opened the window to let the breeze in’. That isn’t the end of it. This ‘loft’ sits on top of a karaoke bar or a club. Do with that information as you will. Loud. Really loud. Shaking loud. No one slept. No one got rest. I understand this is business, and they don’t care because they’ll never have to deal with us again. But in Canada, kindness costs nothing.
