About this space
Located along the sixth fairway of Edgewood Golf Club and 20 minutes south of Springfield, our State Capital, the Cottage at Edgewood is a newly renovated ranch style, single-family home. Whether you’re visiting family, playing golf, touring the Land of Lincoln sites, or cruising Route 66, the Cottage is convenient for all. Guests have exclusive use of the entire house, with a large yard and walkout patio perfect for enjoying your morning coffee, evening drinks, and waving to golfers passing by.
The space
With a complete rehab project finished in April 2023, the Cottage experienced an entire transformation. All windows, doors (exterior and interior), bathrooms, woodwork, fixtures, floors, wall paint, window treatments, and furnishings are brand new.

Guests have the exclusive use of the entire house, approximately 1800 square feet, all on one floor. There is a three-step entry at the front door and two steps from the garage. Three full bedrooms, two full baths, living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, family room (with 60" SMART Firestick TV), and walk-out patio. The garage has space for two cars with a keypad security system. Patio table and chairs with a shade umbrella provide great outdoor dining space.
Guest access
Guests will be given the garage key code prior to arrival. For those who prefer, I can also provide a manual key to the front door. There are additional doors from the family room and the laundry room to the patio.
Other things to note
While our location makes us a great golf destination, the Cottage is not just for golfers. Within a few miles are terrific walking, hiking, biking trails, and boating on Lake Springfield. We are literally minutes from Old Route 66, the mother road. With our state capital, Springfield, only 20 minutes north, we are the perfect location for relaxing after a busy day touring the historic Lincoln home area, Lincoln's Tomb in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lincoln Library and Museum, and Lincoln's New Salem State Park in Petersburg.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private balcony or patio. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a Smart television is provided for your entertainment. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.

Stayed here Thanksgiving week with my sister and brother in law while visiting other family in the area. My brother in law has mobility issues so this house was perfect for him - one level living and a walk-in shower. The house is clean and modern. The kitchen is well stocked and spacious. Lovely Auburn, IL Home
We found our stay at this location very pleasant. The property was clean, well stocked, peaceful and quiet for our three night stay. Our hostess, Janet, was kind enough to check in to ensure that our needs were met and that we were comfortable prior to our checking into the house, and asked that we let her know should we need anything. I would highly recommend this property for anyone who wants to be right next to a golf course, and/or who wishes to enjoy a quiet stay in a country setting.

Girls Weekend
We pullled in about 5:30-6:00. As we were unpacking the host came over and Introduced Herself. We took our things inside, pulled. The vehicles in the garage which was nice since they were calling for storms. The house did not disappoint. It was very clean and very cozy. We really had the home feel. Spent some time sitting on the patio watching the golfers and the weather. Very easy to find and get too.

This was a wonderful experience for my sister & me. It was located in between our home towns & worked perfectly for us to catch up & scrapbook. The hostess is wonderful & prompt in her communications. We had food from some local restaurants & it is was very good. We ventured to Girard, IL to experience lunch at Docs Just Off 66...an old fashioned soda fountain shoppe. Dont miss sraying ar this hidden gem of hospitality!

Oasis in the Fields
We had a wonderful time visiting this charming small town, a great place to stay for trips into Springfield and other surrounding towns and villages. Thank you so much for your hospitality and your amazing accommodations. In the ten plus years I have been booking homes through VRBO I must say this property is one of the most well appointed; absolutely beautiful inside and out. This is a newly remodeled house, right on the golf course. We parked in the garage at night to avoid stray golf balls and enjoyed time on the patio in the morning. The host assured we could get in the house, but left us alone otherwise. Would definitely recommend for a stay in the Springfield area!
