Hotels in Aya

Hotels in Aya are thin on the ground. However, you can take your pick of 13 great digs within 30 kilometres of Aya's centre. Just consider the drive a little extra sightseeing!

Check out Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort and Holiday Inn ANA Miyazaki. They're about as close as you'll get to central Aya.

If you're still after accommodation and aren't satisfied with your options, you could investigate the Hotel JAL City Miyazaki or the Route-Inn Grantia Aoshima Taiyokaku. The first is 25 kilometres away, while the second is 35 kilometres away. Cover all your bases by also taking a look at the Airline Hotel, 25 kilometres away.

Looking for more to do? Consider spending some time enjoying the Arimura Lava Observatory and Sakurajima Dinosaur Park. You'll find them in Kagoshima, 80 kilometres to the southwest of Aya. If you want to visit Kagoshima, consider the rates at the Best Western Rembrandt Hotel Kagoshima Resort and Hotel Sunflex Kagoshima. Or, you could stay in Minamiaso, 90 kilometres to the north of Aya, where you can choose from the Hotel Greenpia Minami Aso and Hotel Yumeshizuku. If you're staying in Minamiaso, set aside some time to visit Yusui Tunnel Park and Mt. Aso.

Travel 95 kilometres northwest and you'll come across Kumamoto, a regional centre with a population of 700,000. While you're exploring this neck of the woods, you'll be able to get your tourist on at Kengun Shrine, Kenritsu Library and Aso Hakusui Onsen. Aso Uchinomaki Onsen and Izumi Shrine are a couple more attractions which are sure to offer up some envy-inducing photo ops. There are a great selection of available hotels in Kumamoto, with the Kikunan Onsen UBL Hotel and Hotel Nikko Kumamoto coming in at the top of the list.

Unless you're planning to set up camp at Kagoshima Airport, it might be wise to book some accommodation before you leave. The Yakakutei is pretty close by, or you could always travel to the centre of town. It's 55 kilometres away.
