Disliked: Amenities
Nothing to like; room facilities v/poor,overpriced, wouldn’t reccomend
Walking distance to BTS Asok, though you would need to walk through some alley.
It is next to a mall and there is a convenience store nearby. You can also eat at the street stall nearby.
They provide toasts and jams for breakfast. You can have coffee and milo too.

Really basic
We got a private room. This had 2 twin mattresses on the floor and nothing else -- no furniture and nowhere to hang up clothes, etc. Shared bathrooms were pretty bad and water pressure was terrible. On the plus side, air con and hot water worked, the staff was nice and the location was great. It's an OK place, but it's overpriced for what it is.
I didn't expect much of this hostel but ended up delighted. Ensuite room bigger than expected, clean. The negative sides would be no toiletries, window not closing (noise) and the aircon facing the bed. Apart from this well worth the (cheap) money. Not "guest friendly" as written on the entrance but I wasn't expecting it either. Well done!
The main thing about the Asoke Montri is the great location right in heart of Sukhumvit just a few minutes walk from Asoke BTS & Terminal 21, whilst being tucked away somewhere quiet enough to get a decent nights sleep. That aside, the price is reasonable but not a bargain, the rooms are quite basic with the decor starting to look a little tired but this is fairly typical of this budget type of accommodation in Bangkok though I honk. All the bathrooms are shared no matter which type of room you choose. A free basic breakfast of toast & coffee is included which is a nice bonus. The staff I found to be friendly and helpful. Wifi is good enough.
I would recommend the Asoke Montri if you just need a bed to put your head down at night & you are on a budget but want to stay in the centre of Bangkok with great access to the MRT & BTS etc.
I stayed 4 nights at this place over the holidays and loved it. It's right in Sukhumvit, near the Asok BTS station, not far from Nana, right in the heart of Bangkok nightlife. I got a private room and really enjoyed it. AC worked great, ice cold in hot Bangkok. Place was clean, bed was decent for the price. Staff was friendly and the wifi works great. This is a hostel, not a hotel, so even if you get a private room, if you try to bring a "lady friend" back to your room, you will pay for her to stay. The staff watches the door all night. This place rocks, would recommend it to anyone traveling on a budget.
Convenient to access as its only a stone's throw from Tetminal 21 which is supported by BTS n MRT. I took the airport rail to Maasakan and then transfer to MRT.The guest house is only a few metres from a main road and can be spotted at the entrance of the alley. Drinking water is available all day. Do remember to bring own toiletries as not provided although there are some random bottles left around (by other guests). What I didn't like was the floor tiles on the stairways which had protruded edges. This made stepping on them on bare feet painful (no shoes policy).
I saw the bunk bed rooms just out of curious. It was clean but stay first in a single room share bathroom. It was ok but way too small, even for a single person. Im agree you just need the room to sleep in Thailand but if you do yoga or any other practice it is almost impossible. So after traveling around and going back to Bangkok I reserved a double bed room share bathroom but stayed in the double bed attached bathroom. It was really nice, spacious and comfortable, the only issue I saw in all the rooms is the lack of closets or a place to store clothes and stuff. You have to put everything on the floor. What I really liked is that is almost in front from Asok station and few close by to the other metro line Sukhumbit so you can go up and down really easy, it was great. Also you can go from the airport to Asok station or Sukhumbit, really helpful, nice areas to eat with facilities, clean bathrooms, in general I had a good experience. The public transport for me was the plus.
