I never write a review on anything. Here was my review on the Howard Johnson we literally RAN INTO TRAFFIC TO GET AWAY FROM
We are on a family road trip with young kids and booked the Howard Johnson based on the photos online and the chain name. From the moment I pulled up, I felt uncomfortable. The place had a funny smell and looked scummy. I had already booked the room so thought I would get it a try. The receptionist was pleasant and directed me to my room. The clientele walking around the outside of the inn made me feel uncomfortable but I thought I would find my room and settle in. The door off of the parking lot which had a lock on it that would open with a room key WAS COMPLETELY BUSTED! Anyone could just walk off the street and walk into the corridor, with one of my rooms being the first one inside this UNLOCKED door. I continued to feel uncomfortable, however again tried to give it a chance. Upon opening the BROKEN-LOCKED DOOR I walked into the inn and was hit with quite a stench. It smelled dirty whole trying to be masked with some type of cleaner. Again, having paid for my room, I continued to try and have a positive attitude and talk myself into staying the one night. I entered my room and was met with something that looked similar to the images on the website, however much more run down. I went outside and tried to talk my friend into coming in to look at the room. We both felt uncomfortable but I said I would show her and we would make a decision about what to
