Room with a View
We were so happy with our hotel choice Sonder Casa Luz! The location was perfect - just close enough to good tourist attractions but also a "local" feel with all the university students around. Our check in was easy breezy. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows for those of you like me who need multiple pillows. Our view was fantastic and we had a little balcony just big enough to stand on or pull a little chair out on. Thank goodness for the soundproof windows because this is a bustling street but at night we didn't hear a thing. All of the staff was great, especially Joao, who gave us great recommendations. The shower was nice and big, unlike many of the hotels we stay in Europe. We also really liked they had a water filling station so we could keep filling our bottle every day. We appreciated the convenience of that and having less plastic waste than being given a couple of waters every day like many of the other hotels. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
You can't beat this view we had from our room!

This was a lovely location! The room was nice and modern, the balcony a great spot for us, and the beds comfortable! Only thing that was hard for our group was the gap between the afternoon and evening hours to ever get to enjoy a drink on the rooftop terrace, otherwise everything was amazing and would totally stay there again!

We got to the hotel at 5:30. The guy at the desk was scrolling on his computer forever. Then, he said, "I'll be back in a minute." We stood there for 15 more minutes. He cam back, scrolled some more and finally gave us keys. We went to the room and it was a double bed and TINY. It smelled like it had just been sprayed with something really strong. I had upgraded the room, so I went back to the desk. The guy srolled and scrolled and finally said, oh, our mistake. Then he gave me another room. This room was bigger and had a bigger bed. I still cannot believe the cost of this joint. The furniture is beyond cheap and it just is not worth what they charge. I can't figure out how they are getting such high reviews. This was our third time in Barcelona and the WORST hotel. Don't believe the reviews.

Great location! Walking distance from Las Ramblas, and Casa Batllo. Hop on and off tour buses starting routes are near by as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and had a beautiful view from our balcony. Breakfast on terrace was nice.

My reason for 4 stars is only if you end up in certain rooms in the 5th floor. The property itself was lovely. Very clean, comfortable, and beautiful. Staff was very nice and welcoming. It is a very central location and we were able to walk to everything, with easy access to bus stops, subway, and taxis. There are 2 USB charging ports by the bed. The breakfast upstairs was wonderful. The balcony was spacious (not street side) and offered nice outdoor privacy. We couldn't hear the street sounds outside, but our room must have been right underneath the restaurant kitchen because there was constant banging/scraping sounds above us for all the hours the restaurant was open, which is most of the day from 7:30am-12:30am. My partner had a hard time sleeping all five nights we were there as a result (I wear headphones at night and didn't notice as much). That's why 4 stars for us instead of 5. If you don't end up in that room, or if you wear headphones/earplugs at night or aren't bothered by noises, I don't think you will have any problems, and I still recommend the stay because of how nice and convenient it is.

We loved our time here. Close to bus stations and metro. Food is fleury. Staff is so kind. Breakfast was SO YUMMY AND BIG! Clean hotel. Trust worthy too. I heard lots of things about Barcelona and were worried. Everything is in tact. Nice and kind people. We would want to stay here again if we are ever back in Barcelona. The bed and pillows were so comfy too! Did not want to wake up in the morning that’s how comfy and welcoming the bed was. Thank you Sonder!
