Luciano and his family work hard. There are very important details omitted from the listing. Travelers should be aware of these facts.
1) They won’t accept your luggage early, even though they live onsite.
2) I was told multiple buses drop me right at the hotel—not true. I had hoped to venture back into Bari. I took #16, which took a hour. No seat. No air. The driver kindly brought me closer, stopping specifically for me. I was left on a highway with no sidewalk (see photos).
3) If you don’t have a car, you will not be self sufficient for food. This structure is at the airport; it’s not a suburb. Nothing near. I was offered a “shuttle” to a pizzeria (3 min by car) for $10 euro. No choice: the 30 min walk, with limited lights and sidewalks: not safe. To put how expensive $10 euro is: my pizza and wine cost $13. The pizza was very good!
4. The airport shuttle (Luciano’s car) is not free. $15 euro. Luciano drove me for free very early in the morning, after I complained that this should have been advertised. Perspective: A private service from Bari Centrale is $25 euro. Luciano drops you outside by car return, so plan on a 5 min walk to Departures with your luggage.
5. You are locked in a gated structure (see photos). If I had seen this, I never would have booked.
I asked to be let out of the reservation (4 days before). This was refused. They were keeping my $93 USD whether I stayed or not.
Positives: good wifi, very clean, large room, good bed.
