The château is run by a charity and is a bit shabby. However the rooms were spacious and clean, the service friendly and the breakfast good. The setting is beautiful with walks in the surrounding forested grounds.

Wonderful place and friendly staff! Good breakfast. Internally, although it was nice and comfortable, I was expecting some “old”, castle-like decoration and furniture. But just the location and surroundings is worth the stay. And it was good to know it is a charity organisation.

Quiet and everything we wanted. Confusing route barrée and deviation about 15 minutes away but that will be a temporary problem.

Nice little gem out of the beaten path. Host was amazing and bear fast was delicious. No air conditioning was the only down side of the stay… it was a bit hot. Other then that it was very good.

Sorry it was only one night
A very imposing French Chateaux with sweeping entrance and ample parking. Reception staff were efficient and friendly, showed us to our room and explained about wifi etc. The room was spacious and clean with good sized comfortable beds and well appointed en suite bathroom. It included a small balcony overlooking the courtyard garden and the wifi worked well and continuously when required. The overall impression of the room and the hotel was of a quiet well maintained elegance. Breakfast was French cold buffet with a good but not extensive choice. Location is very quiet and rural but not far from Angers which is a spectacular smallish city with impressive Castle and Cathedral. We were sorry to only have a one night stay. If you like peace and tranquillity this is a great place to stay. We can recommend it with our whole hearts.

Great Off the Beaten Path!
Briancon is an opportunity to stay out in the countryside. The Chateau still operates partly as a school for children with disabilities and has been converted from dormitories into lovely large and gracious rooms. The staff is incredibly helpful and warm. They do speak some English! We had a VERY large room with a beautiful view over the countryside. The bed was a king and we had a twin cot pulled in for our 5 year old. There was still plenty of room for him to play on the rug and we had a picnic dinner out on the front lawn. I would recommend that dinner choices in Off Season are hard to come buy unless you go into Samur or Angers. Bathrooms were new and lots of hot water. Breakfast was delfightful!!

The Chateau is a historical property that has been completely modernised inside and now provides modern comfortable rooms for guests. We really enjoyed the stay, the rooms were spacious, the continental breakfast was just right. The service at the front desk was quick and friendly as wel. Highly recommend if you are passing through this part of the Loire Valley!

Prefect relaxation in a castle.
IT was just outstanding. Spending the night in a French Castle, in a vast room with separate bath room and toilet already puts you in a good mood. Then, we had a walk in the forest that starts after the park and a good night sleep in the complete quietness of the country side. A great place to relax. We would have gladly stayed several days to enjoy more.

Nous avons été très bien accueilli par la réception. Suite a un désistement nous avons également été sur classé. Les lieux sont magnifiques et très calme, la chambre spacieuse, le lit confortable. De plus, il y a une liste des restaurants et activités a faire aux alentours (avec la distance, le prix approximatif etc) Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour et recommandons le Château de Briançon !
