Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Vacation in architectural monument (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.Parking: The public car park is about 200m from the house (below the house next to the road). The car park is free and not covered. A small footpath leads first up a flight of steps and then through the meadows to the house (7 minutes' walk). The barn is located above the main road. The Hubel bus stop and car park are right next to the turn-off to the holiday home. From there, the holiday home is a five-minute walk along a footpath. It is NOT possible to drive to the house. Public transport: The bus stop is called Beatenberg Hubel and is a 7-minute walk from the house. Number of persons 2 to 4: A baby cot (up to 2 years) is available. The house offers space for two guests (plus baby). There is a double bed for two people. In addition, two more people can sleep on mattresses. Please enquire separately. The barn is a converted farm building. The entrance area and the bathroom are on the ground floor. On the upper floor there is a loft-like room with a kitchen, dining area for four people and a sofa bed and stove. The floors are made of wood, which is why we recommend good slippers.Garden: The house is surrounded by lush meadows above the road (which is not visible or audible) with spectacular views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.WLAN: Is available.Open: The house can be rented all year round.Pets: Pets are not allowed.Altitude: 1200 metres above sea level.IMPORTANT ADDITIONThe "Scheune" is a listed building that has been renovated with great respect for the existing fabric.
