Janet and John are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. Also, Daisy the little dog is a very friendly member of the family who is very pleased to welcome guests. A lovely place to stay, good accommodation and very good breakfast. Will definitely use again and recommend Wallace Lane to prospective visitors to the lakes.
We (1 adult , two 12-year olds) loved it, it was immaculately clean and had a very homely feel. Tea, coffee and biscuits in the room but we would have liked to have been able to buy a savoury snack as we arrived late and the shops in the nearest village (4 miles away) were shut. If you give prior notice you can book an evening meal. Breakfast was beautiful. Wifi kept my son happy. Would definitely stay here again.
The rooms were very clean. The linens were nice and the rooms had several electrical outlets. The owners John and Janet were very friendly and helpful. John helped us find our routes to our sites. This is a nice b&b.
Quite countryside location with quick access to lakes and good sightseeing places. The Owner of the B &B is very friendly and room is cozy for family stay.
Terrific overnight stop from friendly welcome through spacious, clean and well equipped room to the excellent breakfast. Great value will definitely stop again.
This is truly a hidden gem of a place! First, just the drive there is spectacular. It sits on a high swath of ground so you get amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Then the farm itself is lovely, with trees and birds and sheep and chickens. There are spaces for campers and also individual cottages. Inside the main house itself everything is very comfortable and clean. And filled with Janet's incredible artwork. Just lovely. We were a couple but we got a family room because it was the last available for our night. The room was sunny and spacious and comfortable. We had a private bathroom across the hall which was also huge. The shower was so pleasant I hated to get out. There was also an oversized tub, long and deep. Our hosts were friendly and the breakfast was delicious in their beautiful sunroom. We had dinner at a nearby pub and that was great too. I think this is a don't-miss place. I recommend to all.
My wife and I were surprised how big and nice the bedroom and bathroom were. We also had a really nice English breafast while watching the farm animals outside.
Excellent. Accommodated my arriving well after 10. Lovely room and when the proprietor realised I wanted to get away early she prepared excellent full English early the following morning. Unlike many B&B there is a pleasant sitting room for guests. Absolutely the antithesis of staying in a characterless chain hotel.
Midwinter visit so I arrived and left in the dark so cannot comment much on setting other than very rural and quiet.
Recommend without any reservation whatsoever.
Very welcoming and friendly on arrival and throughout, couldn’t do enough for you. We also took our dog for our stay which wasn’t a problem to them and we’re just as friend to our K9. Very comfortable stay and cleanlisness of a high standard!
Set in the hills with streams running through the grounds this hotel gives peace and quiet and relaxation whilst offering attention to detail often not found in chain hotels. Ample supply of drinks in room and choice of breakfast. Friendly host and hostess and their two dogs too.
