Adorable cottage in a tranquil, picturesque setting on a private lake in the spectacular South Cumberland Mountains.
Delightful and cozy, this 2023 custom built 1200 square foot two bedroom modern build will be your sanctuary from reality.
Designed with a crisp, yet gently modern flare, the downstairs bedroom has a king size bed, the upstairs loft has two queens. Bathrooms upstairs and down. Large, gourmet style kitchen so that you can prepare the bass you've caught in the lake. The great room is lofty, airy and bright and brings in the beautiful views of the lake. Large elevated porch with comfy chairs, gives expensive views up and down the lake and the woods on the far side. And that sunrise! This is your private haven away from the world! Don't miss it!
Private fire pit area with lake view
This beautiful 3 acre lake is walkable all the way around the perimeter through the quiet woods of over 9 acres, with wildflowers, and beautiful native plants and trees along the way. Only one other cottage has access to the lake and property and it is discreetly tucked away out of sight. If you're lucky you will see a great blue heron fishing! Or a family of deer pausing on the shore for a drink. Keep your eyes peeled, our mountains are known to have bald eagles!
Pack a picnic lunch and walk to the other side and enjoy the solitude!
You are welcome to bring your kayak and fish to your heart's content, you will find bass, brim, crappie and catfish. One end of the lake would be suitable for shoreline casting. Please note that the lake does not have a beach, but is surrounded by protective wetland along most of its shoreline. You can launch your kayak easily, however it is not suitable for wading or swimming.
The house is located down gravel driveway, one other home (property owners) can be seen from the front of the house.
Just minutes away from the majesty of the new Savage Gulf State Park. This newest Tennessee State Park has over 30 miles of hiking for all skill levels, glorious waterfalls, and magnificent overlooks where you can see for miles.
A few minutes down the road is charming Beersheba Springs, and this entire village is on the National Historic register and offers a lovely walk amongst its many mid 1800s residences.
The beautiful town of McMinnville is only 23 miles away, and offers outstanding restaurants, river kayaking and fishing, waterfalls, quaint shops, caving tours, music venues and additional state parks. The unique and popular music venue, The Caverns, and the famous Bonnaroo festival are both a short scenic drive from the cottage.
There are several more towns, each with their own unique offerings, with many seasonal activities, farmers markets and special events ! There is never a shortage of adventures here in our beautiful mountains, where nature, not civilization, still rules!
