LIVING SPACE - Spacious 1100+ sq ft home with living room, dining table, bar seating, TV, wood burning stove fireplace, and comfortable living room seating.

ROOMS & BEDS - 2 bedroom, 2 bath. Master bedroom has a double bed, TV, private bath with wheelchair accessible shower, and deck access. Second bedroom has a queen bed and bunk bed. Extra blankets and pillows are available.

KITCHEN - Beautiful granite countertops and updated cabinetry, stove with oven, double door refrigerator with water and ice dispenser, dishwasher, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, pots/pans, spices, and more.

AMENITIES - Brand new Foosball table! Board games include Cards Against Humanity Family Edition, Chutes and Ladders, and more. Smart TVs and streaming apps along with fast WiFi. Relax near the cozy wood burning fireplace!

Great for Small Families
I chose Chief Bears Den because it had a hot tub and it looked liked it had all the comforts of home, including a gas grill. I was right. I wanted to be away from noise and a lot of activity, but within 10-15 minutes of grocery stores, hiking, the lake, etc.. Again, this home hit the mark. We had everything we needed to make this a very nice, comfortable stay in Big Bear. The only reason why I am rating this house 4 out of 5 stars is due to the skylight and the full/queen sized bed in the guest bedroom. There are several skylights in this unit which I thought was very clever and smart for energy efficiency, except in the guest bedroom. The cover on that skylight makes it seem like a florescent light has been turned on so when the sun comes up, that room is not just bathed in light, but overflowing with light making it impossible to sleep if you are in the stand alone bed rather than the bunk bed. This means you cannot sleep in if you are in this bed, even when you want to (or need to). Also, there is a rubber mattress cover on the standalone bed which makes the bed noisy (everyone in the home can hear you when you move) and hot. Your best bet is to sleep in the bottom bunk of the bunk bed where you will be out of the light and the mattress is comfy (no plastic mattress cover).

The place needed extra cleaning. We were appalled at the way the beds were made!! There were no mattress covers or mattress protectors on both beds! The bottom sheet was not tucked in. The blanket in one of the rooms was just a sofa throw blanket. There was not enough toilet paper and paper towels. The light fixtures had spiderwebs. And an area under a built-in cabinet in the living room, had a hole big enough for rodents to go in and out— Although we did not see any rodents. And, we have never stayed in a short term rental where we had to carry our trash out of the house, put in our private vehicle and take to a destination place! We will never stay in big bears Cool Cabins sgain!!

Great experience
Everything about our stay was great. We just stayed 1 night but would be happy to have a longer stay here. We had 4 adults, 2 in each room and slept comfortably. The host was very prompt in replying to all of my questions. There was only 1 negative thing that happened. Late at night about 1 am the shower head fell off the wall and was very loud. It woke us up and we didn’t initially know what happened. Other than that it was great.

Cabin is very cute .. beds are comfy.. was disappointed spa wouldn't heat higher then 88 and we didn't have enough towels to support our family to get in the spa and then shower.. management did bring us more towels the next day and did send someone out to check the spa.. we really wanted to be able to use the spa but it just wasn't spa temp ;(

We had a pleasant time at the cabin. It has everything you need to accommodate your needs. Was clean and well equipped. The hot tub was serviced the same day we arrived, which we greatly appreciate. It is a little bit away from the Big Bear village, but that is clearly stated in the description. Only issue is the neighbors dogs, at least 5 of them. Every time you step aut at the deck they will bark on you next to the fence /very low wire fence/. Overall we had a great time. We may rent again but at the regular price range. The new year's price was insane, I believe as many other places at close to Christmas holidays booking. It is pet friendly with gated backyard, very convenient, again if you don't mind neighbors dogs.
