Perfect stay. Staff were very helpful and kind. Room ( newly refurbished) was great and for a small fee we were able to make use of an extra lounge area adjacent to our room. Highly recommended.
Lovely refurbished hotel with great rooms and very friendly staff. Only downside of this trip I chose to pay at hotel but they took payment from my card before arrival which made the option pointless.
A return to the land of my grandfather.. situated about a mile outside the town centre the hotel has a large carpark with electric chargers.
The rooms are contained in a courtyard block set back from the reception in a style familiar to those that travel in Australia and that is a good thing.
Facilities are excellent and each room is perfectly clean and spotless.
The meals are cooked to perfection and the breakfasts are award winning
The staff are courteous and attentive.
All in all this is a top notch place to stay.
very small room which was clean and tidy and modern. Quite noisy because of being next to refrigeration unit?and outside the bedroom window (room 2) was a service light which illuminated the roof and the bedroom, so the blind had to be down, but as it was very warm you had to make the choice blind up or down. The fan was great but noisy and emitted a harmonic which I thought might disturb others in the hotel, so i didnt use it. The toilet seat was loose and right up against a radiator and needs to be looked at asap. Very uncomfortable.
Stayed in the courtyard rooms which are good, the chairs are not the greatest and not overly comfortable but ok. Other than better fitting black out blinds as they let in a lot of light especially when the sun shines on them the room was good, good size, clean, with USB charging points. Would stay again for sure.
A truly lovely stay from start to finish.
Checked in with ease. We had a long drive and arrived later but reception staff were patient and professional.
The building was clean, tidy and welcoming and our room delightful. Everything seemed fresh and spotless.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Again Staff were professional and friendly.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope, one weekend soon, will return.
Thank you so much.
Upon booking I ticked the option to pay at the hotel. Upon arrival I was surprised to be advised the room and that of 4 other guests had all been paid for 2 days before our arrival from my account. Totalling over £1000. Which had resulted in me having to request reimbursement from the other guests. The whole point of paying at venue was to avoid this 😟.
When you pull up, you are thinking you are getting an average hotel; nothing special. But when you walk through the door, it’s like going through the Twilight Zone. The lobby is excellent. The room was recently updated; very clean and comfortable. Very impressed, and it is just off the motorway. What’s not to like. Very pleased.
Very clean, modern & friendly. Excellent shower, comfy bed. Lovely breakfast, decent bar food. A bit off the beaten track, but still only a short drive to Durham & other attractions. Can’t fault it.
