Turkey Trot- Light & Bright Blowing Rock Guest Suite

THE SPACE: Enjoy our beautiful, fun newly renovated guest suite atop a quiet mountain at one of the most convenient locations near Blowing Rock. Private entrance with flat, paved parking right beside the door gives you easy access. The suite is a large space with sleeping, lounging, and work areas. The alcove has a cozy queen size bed, with a supportive and comfortable hybrid memory foam mattress on an adjustable bed base with luxury linens and USB charging outlets. Additional full size 6" memory foam platform bed available upon request. Relax in the living area with board games, DVDs, or watch Netflix & Amazon on the 65" tv- you may also bring your credentials for other apps (no cable tv). The desk alcove provides working space if needed and the suite has dedicated high speed internet and its own HVAC/ heat & air conditioning, also has a 4-speed ceiling fan. The bathroom has a spa-like feeling with a low-threshold shower and walnut vanity. Cedar lined walk in closet with extra pillows & blankets. Outdoor ski rack provided in winter months. Please NOTE: We do have several chickens and a proud rooster on property. We do not allow pets of any kind. Park in the upper driveway (all the way around the front of the house) and enjoy flat, no stairs access directly to the studio door.

LOCATION: We are located in a very quiet, peaceful area on a state-maintained gravel road. We are tucked in among the trees surrounded by abundant wildlife- turkey, deer, songbirds- and starry nighttime skies. The Blue Ridge Parkway and many local hiking & biking trails are close by. The Middle Fork Greenway trail and Tweetsie Railroad are within walking distance, only minutes to Blue Deer Cookies, Birdie's Coffee, and Mystery Hill. 5 miles to downtown Blowing Rock, Tanger Outlets and Appalachian Ski Mountain, and 4 miles to Boone. 7-8 miles from two equestrian centers. Excellent restaurants abound nearby and we're happy to make recommendations.
Only 5 minutes from Boone, 30 minutes to Banner Elk, and 30 - 40 minutes from Sugar or Beech ski areas. We are 10 minutes from Appalachian State University and 30 minutes Lees McRae University.

AMENITIES: mini fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, selection of teas & coffee, cork screw, WIFI, night lights, some paper goods, board games, books & DVDs provided. In the cedar closet you'll find extra blankets, pillows, and iron & ironing board, hangers & luggage rack. Bathroom vanity houses a hair dryer, soaps and shampoos, plenty of tp and some cleaning supplies in case guests need them. Linens are cleaned using scent and dye free detergents and air filters are frequently changed- we are sensitive to those with allergies.
Make yourself comfortable in your air-conditioned vacation home, featuring a refrigerator and a microwave. There's a private patio. A Smart television and a DVD player are provided for your entertainment, while complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected. The bathroom has a shower and a hair dryer.

Beautiful & Perfect!

This cute little Turkey Trot exceeded my expectations - it was beautiful and perfect! Quiet space with own driveway and entrance. The inside was very clean, bright and airy, linenes were soft and cozy and to mention a wonderful nights sleep on the Structures adjustable bed. An additional full size bed was added to the space for my 10 yr old. Bathroom was equipped with plenty of linens and the shower was nice! Less than a 10 minute drive into town and the property owner was quick to respond and a delight to work with. 5 EXCELLENT stay!

Very clean and neat, few problems.

Loved the house, very cutely decorated and private from the main house, but upon our first night we started the shower and realized that the toilet water would rise and not stop, contacted the host asking if it was common or if there was a fix, no response. On the second day we were pulling in and to (what we assumed were the owners kids) playing in the yard, didn’t think anything of it until we were getting out of the car and a little girl decided to stand five feet away from us, and watched us as we got out of the car and unloaded it. Just a little odd. While it is disclosed there are chickens, there’s also roosters that will wake you up at 6 a.m. Overall, would stay again just some small problems!

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful rental. The location was perfect and the property was well apportioned and comfortable. There was a lot of light and the decor was modern and stylish. We had a wonderful quiet stay up on the mountain. The stars were beautiful! The room was very clean and organized. The bathroom had fluffy soft towels and extra amenities, if needed. The bed was super comfortable! There were extra blankets availble. The location was easy to find and convenient. A quick drive back to Boone or over to Blowing Rock. AAA+++

Quick jaunt to App State

We needed a place to stay while our child was at an overnight orientation at Appalachian. The guest suite was spacious with a comfortable couch and plenty of entertainment options (from many TV options—on a large screen—to board games to puzzles to books to sitting on the swing outside the door and enjoying the mountain air). The suite also had an impressive supply of toiletries in the event the guest forgets something. Additionally, there is both coffee and tea as well as a fridge, freezer and microwave for leftovers/groceries (the plasticware, ziplock bags, and paper plates/bowls were also a nice couch). The mattress was definitely new & though a bit firm for our personal preference, with all the pillows and the couch, we were both able to make ourselves comfortable. Overall, we had a beautiful, affordable stay.

Stayed here for our annual trip to the Tweetsie Railroad! We LOVED that we could hear the Train from the property, our kids had an absolute blast and it is right across the street from the park. We checked out downtown Blowing Rock for the first time and that was great as well. 10 stars!

Upscale stay in a quaint atmosphere

My husband I enjoyed our stay in this property. It was convenient to some of the best hiking trails and eateries, yet far enough away from the main highway traffic. The room was very clean, the bed super comfortable and the hosts even provided a cabinet of toiletries to choose from. We will definitely consider a return visit when we are in this area again! Beautiful escape in the mountains

Jen was an amazing host from start to finish. The accommodation was just as advertised. Very clean. Lovely furnishings. The bed was phenomenal and I’m not looking forward to returning to my own bed and mattress tonight! Such a perfect night’s sleep. The fridge was larger than we expected! I only wish I could leave more than 5 stars. We would love to come back. Thank you Jen and Family for creating such a relaxing and peaceful stay for us.
