We arrived from the north which is very sparsely populated for quite a long portion of our ride. We were getting nervous about what we would be greeted with given the limited attractions in the surrounding area. Turned off the main road to more nothing, up the hill around the corner and then... WOW this gorgeous facility popping out of the top of this hill. We really love the rustic look so this was our cup of tea. The day itself was dreary and chilly, but our two kids wanted to swim. Sadly, with COVID restrictions, swimming was limited to an hour, however after that hour they were satisfied. They also enjoyed the arcade and perused the gift shop. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant (O-Hee-Yuh Restaurant). We enjoyed everything and had no complaints. As we were just passing through, we only stayed the one night, but if/when we were to visit the area again, we would be confident in returning to Shawnee. We had the room with 2 double beds and the bunk beds. FUN!
OH! My favorite part is the hand soap, not quite sure what the scent is, but I just loved it. Maybe lemon and something.
For those who want to know, wifi was sporadic (we have unlimited data on our phones, but still had trouble using anything). The rooms could use a little upgrade, but everything was clean. The bathrooms were dated, but everything was in working order. Beds were comfy, nice patio with chairs overlooking the parking lot, but still a nice view. We recommend a visit to Shawnee.
