Private Getaway on the McKenzie River
We wanted a cozy cabin near the river and other local hikes. This property fit our needs and was very private. The view from the picture window and large deck was so beautiful with large growth trees and ferns. Cross the bridge and go down a magical little patch to your own spot on the river. So peaceful and scenic! It was my dad's 82nd birthday and he absolutely loved it. The low step in shower made it accessible for him as well. The WiFi speed was outstanding (we weren't expecting that!) and our pup was allowed which is a must in our family. We are definitely interested in a return trip.

Cute spot right by the river
This was one of our favorite stays to date! The cabin is spacious enough to accomodate a small family, with 2 beds in the loft space, a futon in the living room and the large bed on the main floor. The river is not just outside, its a short walk but totally worth it. And you can hear the river from the moment you get out of the car! is

DOES NOT SLEEP 9 UNLESS YOU PAY MORE! Otherwise, basic
First and foremost, this rental does not sleep 9 unless you pay more than the listed price per night. I was quoted at the time of my stay it was $100 more per night to rent the additional room over the garage that sleeps another 4 people. The main rental, which is all you get from the listing, sleeps 5. Many people will miss that unless they read through the entire listing carefully. When I mentioned how this was confusing to the owner, he said in a snarky voice that they don't get many people who are "confused". However, when I read the house reviews there were other previous renters who were confused as well. So this is a repeat problem and I suggest to the owner to list the property with the accurate amount of beds with the price listed to avoid future "confusion". Rental wasn't ready at time for check in, beds not made, door unlocked. I called the owner and he offered to come make the beds but I said no worries we would, which we did. He still came by, probably to check and see that we had the correct amount of people. It was 4 of us. House is pretty basic. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. Especially the futon couch. It was unbearable for my son who is 6 foot tall. It would only be ok for toddlers. I was in the queen bed and it was pretty uncomfortable as well. Setting is beautiful, but no river view from house. Deck is really nice. Kitchen with no dishwasher and no cleaning supplies. Just a broom. No washer or dryer available.

Lovely and as Listed
Had a wonderful and peaceful 12 day solo retreat. The cabin is cozy and pleasant. The kitchen is well appointed. The location can’t be beat, and I think the short trail and bridge to the riverbank is a plus, especially if you enjoy birds out back. The host was friendly and communicative.

Sentimental Journey
My brothers and I rented this property to commemorate the 10 year passing of our mother who owned this property for almost 40 years. The quaint and simple nature of her home, and the gorgeous riverfront, are still very much the same as when she was there. The expanded deck is wonderful! Jonathan, the manager, was a total delight to work with. He was quick to respond to any questions I had and really strives to make your stay pleasant and comfortable.

Mckenzie river retreat
We chose this property because we had the impression it was directly next to the river. It was not and in fact we had to walk down a path to get to the river and could not see it from the deck due to woods and flora. Also the ad said TV available but only 2 smart tv options. But was very clean and beds & kitchen comfortable and close to where we recreated

Owner was very easy to talk to along with an easy check in. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Comfy beds and a nice hot shower. Everything I planned on doing out doors was so close. My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this cute cabin and hope to return in the near future. Thank you again for your hospitality:-)

We enjoyed the house. Enough room for 4 adults comfortably. The deck was wonderful and the trail out to the river was nice to watch the rafters float down. A deck of cards or a game of some kind might be a nice addition to the bookshelf. Thanks for a relaxing stay!

Very nice cabin for a weekend getaway. Everything was as advertised. Well stocked with everything you need, I would recommend this cabin for anyone wanting a nice weekend, very close to a great golf course (Tokatee). The reason we chose this property to rent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great saint patty’s weekend
There was a few little things to complain about. The bbq didn’t warm up over 250 not sure why there was plenty of propane we couldn’t use it. The cooking seasoning was All low. Pillows in the master were rock hard. The wife wasn’t too stooked about the motel 6 toilettries. For what we paid we just expected a little better. The house and garage were cool. The host needs update their ad to explain extra charges for the garage. We didn’t mind paying it we just didn’t see the extra charge when we booked the house we thought the garage was included. But we really did have a great time regardless.

Very peaceful location
We stayed for three nights in this cozy cabin. It's easy to find but very quiet and peaceful. I was a bit worried about being cold given the recent winter weather but the cabins electic fireplace and heaters kept it very warm and comfortable. Plenty of room for three and our two small dogs. Large kitchen area and an updated bathroom. Of course the location is really the winner! The cabin backs to a small creek and then a few more steps to the riverfront. We would be anxious to visit in warmer weather so we could really enjoy the surroundings. My only tip would be to sure to bring along whatever groceries you need. There were only a few local eateries and some were closed during our stay. The Blue Sky market had a fairly good selection but it's really more convenience store offerings and the somewhat remote. location was reflected in their prices . Very close to many recreational activities but quite a few were snowed over while there (Sahalie Falls and Clear Lake). Nonetheless we enjoyed the quiet family time. Wifi worked GREAT if that's important to you and we did need to access for work occasionally. My only few small critiques would be about the sticky screen door that was hard to open and tv set up. We were able to figure out how to stream Netflix but that's about it. If there was cable it was out while we were there. I consider myself fairly tech savvy but some directions to use the tv/remotes might be helpful.
