Nguyen Shack is what it says...
I stayed here for 1 night — arriving on the overnight bus from Hanoi at 4am but they immediately checked me in and showed me to my room, which I was very grateful for. This is a hostel —not a hotel. Their breakfast was good and the friendly staff was great. When I asked them if they could hook me up with a scooter and driver to take me to Paradise cave (and back), they did so within 15 minutes — and the driver took me through the park on a scenic tour to boot!

It's really a shack.
Nguyen Shack was as advertised. We liked feeling like we were camping for a night, but still on a comfy bed with a good bug net. Unfortunately the hostel next door plays terrible live music every night until 11 and the curtain to your room doesn't provide a lot of noise reduction. But, can't blame Nguyen Shack for that.

Gần sát Phong Nha, style lạ giữa các khách sạn thông thường khác. Phòng khá thoải mái, giá ổn, phù hợp cho những bạn thích du lịch bụi, ngủ ít, đi nhiều. Chỉ có điểm trừ nhỏ là hôm mình ở ks đang đổ thêm đất để mở rộng nên khá ồn. Thấy menu có BBQ nên khá kì vọng 1 bữa nướng hoành tráng trên sân thượng mát mẻ giữa núi rừng nhưng thất vọng vì thức ăn cũng ko mấy đặc sắc.

Please bear in mind that it is really a shack - three-walled with a curtain so may not be exactly what you’re looking for if it sounds bad to you. We are fine with that, though it can get noisy when people check in late cos the walls are really thin. Breakfast is not included but it isn’t too expensive comparing to other restaurants in the area. Noted that the area is relatively expensive as it’s a tourist town. Shared toilets and showers but they are pretty clean. Shower gel and shampoo provided. Very friendly staff. Walking distance to the Phong Nha Cave’s boat station.
