Service friendly, rooms filthy and disgusting
Initially, I want to acknowledge that the individual who checked me in was quite friendly and professional. Upon realizing that the heat in our initial room 567 was not functioning, coupled with the loud and disruptive arguments from the neighboring room that continued well past 10 p.m., we were subsequently relocated to room 767. That room was filthy, yet it was 11 and we were exhausted! It appears that the area under the beds has been neglected for quite some time. there was dog food and food crumbs behind the main door. The tub had some dark residue that washed down when my significant other showered. The chair appeared untouched and dusty for weeks, while the entire room was cluttered with mothballs and debris. After just an hour of walking around before bed, our white socks were completely black. The individual, I believe her name was Destiny, checked me out, was very sincere with her apologies, and promptly got on the phone to the head housekeeper. I did share a few photos with her.

Staff was amazing! Only issue we had was dirt all over in the bathtub and hair on the bathroom floor. No swing latch on our door either. But otherwise comfortable stay.

Downtowner was a downer
It's a tired hotel in a tired part of town. From the broken front door to the awkward layout, it was totally unwelcoming. Had to rouse a front desk clerk to check in. Breakfast the next morning the attendant mostly gone. She never greeted anyone, much less walk around offering coffee or hello. The room was clean. Guess that was enough.

The room had a muggy, stale smell to it. The floor did not look clean, especially under the bed - tons of dirt. The screen door on the patio barely opened and shut. The outside of the hotel was not taken care of- the trash can outside the door was full the entire time we were there and people were putting trash next to the trash can. We are very unhappy with our experience and will not be staying again.

This place is not well staffed. There were at least eight people lined up to check in, at 3 PM when Management knows a lot of people are going to be checking in. However there was just one person serving customers while numerous office/management people walked by completely oblivious. At one point I needed a glass I asked the bartender for one and he would not give me one. I’m OK

What happened to you Red Lion?
At check-in I found that the front desk worker had written my credit card number and expiration date down on a piece of paper after I had called it into her for an update. It was still on the counter unattended when I got there to check in. Our room was not great. The bed was terrible and the AC unit made a clanging noise when the fan reached a certain speed. On the first night, we left the room for a dinner and came back to find out key cards did not work. We were on the 3rd floor above THE RESIDENTS WHO LIVE ON THE SECOND FLOOR FULL TIME. I Called the front desk but no answer. I walked down to the front desk and was told, there was some mistake and he made me new keys. The rest of the stay seemed fine but RL used to be a hotel to be proud of staying at. This place was old, carpets had been through hell, hotel room doors looked like they had been soaked in water at one point. All of them were bloated and cracked. Don’t let the pictures fool you, this place has zero luxury left in it.

The stay at the Red Lion was not a great experience. The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly, but it was poorly managed. I asked for a different room after the first night, and as soon as I mentioned the room number, the girl at the front desk looked at me with a sympathetic expression. It was clear that they all knew it was a bad spot. My room, located on the top floor, was directly above the elevator, and the back of my TV shared a wall with the elevator shaft. Throughout the night and day, every time the elevator moved, it was extremely loud and made it impossible to sleep. The front desk clerk said they would get me a new room, and I asked them to call me and let me know when it was ready. However, no one ever called. When I returned that afternoon, the manager told me that they couldn’t move me and simply apologized. I had been to the mini-mart earlier, and when he noticed my beer, he said, “Maybe that will help you sleep.” I work in customer service myself and was shocked by his response, so I just left. He never offered a discount or any other form of compensation.Additionally, I was told that the restaurant and bar would be open, but they were closed the entire time I was there. I watched over 15 people try to go in after the football game, only to be turned away because the doors were locked. This was very disappointing and inconvenient for the guests. The rooms were okay, and the staff was generally nice, but I would not stay there again if I can help it.
