Rustic Charm
The cabin was as advertised and very clean. We received a communication the day of check-in that electrical work made one upstairs bedroom unusable. When we arrived, I took the downstairs bedroom and my friend was going to use the other upstairs room but we could not get electricity to work in that room so she slept on the couch. All was well until night time, when a mouse in the wall kept us awake. The area was lovely and we enjoyed all the sights and activities. The house felt secluded and private which was nice. I would rate the house higher if we had been able to sleep.

Cute cabin but some issues
Pros: The cabin is cute, in a great location. There are plenty of cooking utensils, plates etc. and fans/window units which was necessary for a July visit. There was also a welcome snack and some water which was much appreciated after driving in, without much in the way of food options nearby. The fire pit is nice and there is plenty of room in the driveway. Cons: - The water pressure is abysmal. I am shocked no reviews have said this yet. It took about 10 minutes to fill the tub to a couple of inches deep so I could give my son a bath. Forget taking a shower if anyone has flushed the toilet in the last 15 minutes. I tried to email the property to see if we were doing something wrong but realized too late I had used the wrong email address - There were bees in the rafter on the 2nd floor, which is the room my husband, 3 year old and 8 week infant were staying in. It's a cabin and sure bugs and spiders may be moderately accepted but it seemed as though there was a nest in the room. We killed 3 bees in a 24 hour timeframe. No windows had been left open. - The downstairs was cleaned fine but the stairs had dead bugs and debris on them and there were cobwebs in the corners right above the beds. - The posting said the room upstairs had 2 full beds, but it didn't. It had a full and 2 twins. This would have been fine but since we had to bring our own linens it meant the sheets did not fit the bedding. Not sure why it wouldn't just be posted accurately. Not good for tall ppl.

Amazing
This little slice of cozy was amazing. We absolutely loved the cabin and everything about it. The location is central to almost everything. The Linville Falls Winery and Caverns are very close, but other activities are close as well. Communication with Chase was excellent and he and his wife are absolutely the best owners I’ve ever had to communicate with. My husband and I will definitely be back here for a getaway!

Heating was a challenge get warm and then cool off. House close to road driveway bushes need little trimmimg scratched truck while using horseshoe drive. Cottage nice and finding the secret window was fun. Very close to linville falls and surrounding trails. Firepit in good location. Road close to house be careful with kids and dogs.

Relaxing
If you want a five star, this is not it! However, if you want a comfortable, classic cabin in the mountains, this is wonderful. It was built in the 1930's as a basic home for a mountain family. We loved the atmosphere and unusual features. (Look for the hidden window.) Being so close to Linville caverns, Linvile Falls, and the just added to its appeal. Loved it

Not fancy, but very comfortable!
Really enjoyed my stay here, as did my pup! Definitely not fancy, but was very clean, comfortable and cozy. Nice location (1/4 mile from Linville Falls) with lots to do just a short drive away. Home does not have AC, but we were there July 4th weekend and with windows open and a fan we were perfectly comfortable. Would definitely come back here.

Cute cabin but needs a bath
Cute little cottage. But, not properly cleaned, mold was so terrible we left early. No AC which was fine but the fans were so filthy we could not cut them on because they would blow dirt/dust; balls of dust just hanging on them. Cobwebs everywhere. Shower head did not work properly. Not enough deep pots for cooking things such as corn or pasta, had to go buy a new pot. Again, cute cabin just needs tlc and major proper cleaning before used as a rental.

Linville Fall weekend
Very charming cottage, built in the 1930’s but with every thing you could need. It’s just like walking into someone’s home, every item you could possibly need is there. We were greeted with cookies, candy coffee, bag of ice in the freezer and every kitchen utensils you could need. Plenty of towels and bathroom supplies. Bed linens were clean and the beds made and the beds sleep great. I highly recommend this cottage but if your looking for something modern spit shined painted walls and marble floors just keep looking, this is not for you but if you want a country living experience, book this place, you will not be disappointed. Side note, as with any 100 year old plus house a few of the floors are not quite level, but that just adds more charm

Dog friendly place to explore Linville
This cottage was just what we wanted! A warm and cozy place to serve as a home base while we explored Linville. Less than 10 minutes to the gorge, Linville Falls, Linville caverns, and only 30 minutes from Grandfater mountain. There was a convience store and someone selling firewood next door. The yard was perfect for the pups and the fireplace was wonderful. The cabin was well stocked, tidy, and inviting.

Things not happy with
No remote for Firestick, spider webs around ceiling and fireplace, pull out sofa was filthy. You could sleep on it. Sitting in den uncomfortable (Futon). The floors didn’t seem clean. Not sure if they had been mopped in a while. Loved location to winery
