I loved the accommodation, lovely building with real character, nice and clean, light and airy. The host was super friendly and made me feel so welcome. It’s in a great spot, really central within walking distance of the Main Street Saint Catherine and a nice square virtually next door. I really couldn’t recommend this highly enough.

Most enjoyable stay in a historical part of Bordeaux. Our room was spacious and well equipped, our host was attentive and provided everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious, she added something special every morning in addition to the croissants, bread,coffee and other normal offerings. Frédérique was a delightful host. We will return if ever in the area and recommend to our friends.

I felt comfortable in this 3rd floor apartment and I was able to drop off my bag and even check-in a bit early. It was very hot and there was no AC, but I would stay here again. It had everything you meed, just like home and it was a nice change from a hotel.

A faerie place
Very nice welcoming, in the heart of Bordeaux, a unique « maison d’hote » that keeps you in à faerie atmosphere (decor of the room, of the hotel). Good products for breakfast (organic and from the near farms).

Lovely Stay in Bordeaux
Le Miroir aux Fées is a wonderful B&B in a historic stone home in the heart of the historic district. The proprietor is extremely knowledgeable about the city and has traveled the world. She is extremely helpful, full of conversation, and willing to direct you on your journey and/or recommend restaurants and attractions. The rooms are delightful, spacious, and nicely decorated. They all come with ensuite bathrooms and the bed was very comfortable. The light breakfast includes bread, fresh fruit (in the summer), coffee/tea. I would definitely stay here again if/when back in Bordeaux.

Very bad to start, but got better
We arrived early and was disappointed to find that the property was locked with no one available so that we could drop our bags off. When we returned to check in, we mentioned this and was then subjected to a heated discussion from the owner stating that this was her home and not a hotel and we should have made a prior appointment to arrive early. On one trip back to the property, the owner was met and she offered for us to return 30 mins later to drop our bags off and in hind sight, we should have accepted. We then also tried to say that this information should be on her advert but she spoke over the top of us and it was finally on the third time of asking to be shown to our room or given a refund that she did show us to our room. However after this issue, we found the room to be lovely with a new bathroom and the property beautiful. The owner was helpful regarding restaurant recommendations and knowledgeable about the city.

Our Ideal Holiday Accommodation
Fantastic location in historic city centre with dozens of bars and restaurants close at hand. Ideal for avoiding large international hotels. This is a C17th stone house with just 3 guest rooms. Wonderful breakfasts with fresh fruit, home baked brioche and home made jams. Frédérique, our host, was delightful.
