Nice building, shame about the interior
The outside of the hotel and grounds are lovely. The staff are top notch, very friendly and professional. Desperately in need of a lick of paint and a new carpet here and there. Room was clean and comfy, few stains on the floor though. Bit annoying, as with not very much money spent, this could be a 5 star place. Would stay again to enjoy the lovely Tudor mansion and grounds.

We only had one overnight stay but i probably wouldnt look to go back. Due to the age of the property, there is no air con installed which meant our room was incredibly hot. The facilities could be much improved if someone put a bit of thought into it. The outside seating area could be really pretty if there was more lighting but instead its quite dark snd nearly every chair we tried to sit on was broken - wooden furniture needs some tlc. Reception staff are not very chatty. On checking out the next morning, I knew I would be receiving a £30 refund but was informed the system wasnt working so i would have to wait for this to go through when it was up and running. Overall, i'd give this property 3/5, which is a shame as if the people running it put in a bit of thought and effort, it could be beautiful.

Sadly this place has more cons then pros. The scenery and surrounding areas are lovely. However the actual hotel is in a bad state. The bathroom in room 36 smelt like a morque. There were spiders fighting each other on the walls and I found someone else's eyelashes in the sink and bathroom. Shocking !! On my second day there was no breakfast as they were doing some refurbishment but no one was helpful enough to advise or offer me something. I had to figure it out and although people seem to think the service is OK unfortunately it wasn't during My stay. Never again and back at the Village Watford in future for only a few extra pounds!

I booked this hotel for a special anniversary weekend away with my fiance. I particularly chose this hotel based on the photos on the website, the rooms looked beautiful and i was happy to find this hotel. We drove from Kent, which is a fairly long journey and were excited to start our weekend together of marking 5 years. We parked up and checked in, the lady at reception was lovely. However when we entered our room we were very disappointed. There was a strong musky smell in the room, the carpet looked filthy and the curtains were a ripped, discoloured brown colour. The curtains were dirty and had lots of marks on them. I have a photo of the curtains however am unable to upload with this review. We were very disheartened with this room and did not feel like we could stay here, we felt misled by the pictures that are online for this hotel as it was nothing like them. 5 minutes after we entered the room we left and we made the decision that we could not stay here. I spoke to the lady at reception and told her my concerns. We then had to find and book another hotel last minute. As you can imagine, this was not a great start to our weekend and we felt very let down. Please can a member of the team contact me regarding a full refund.

Room was very comfortable and relaxing. Few unfortunate things which was the fault of the house keeping. No towels in our bathroom. Bin in bathroom hadn’t been emptied, a very unpleasant item had been left in there. Coffee machine had no coffee pods which reception supplied us with but coffee machine wasn’t working. Have to add reception staff were excellent and helpful.

Ok, but has some issues
Our room was in the annexe, which is down a staircase from the reception area. Corridor lights operate on sensors, which give something of a horror film vibe when going to your room. The room itself had seen better days. It felt a little cramped, and the furniture was showing signs of age. There was a lingering damp smell which we couldn't get rid of, even with the window open. The bed was a small double, with only two pillows provided. The bathroom was fine, although the shower bracket could not be tightened, so as soon as the shower was turned on, the head flicked back, resulting in the bathroom getting flooded. The public areas of the hotel are far better maintained. The bar terrace was lovely and has a view towards West London. Breakfast buffet was reasonable. Overall, we had no major issues, but we wouldn't rush back.

Lovely hotel and great staff
Stayed here due to having a gig at Wembley, a short taxi journey to Stanmore Tube and the Jubilee line straight to Wembley Park. Check in was great, the lady on reception was really helpful, knowing we were going to Wembley she offered advise and gave taxi numbers as it could be busy when returning to Stanmore.
