Room had mold in it and bugs on the curtains, hole in wall, blinds broken...took pictures of everything upon arrival.

Awkward location between streets. The parking lot had no availability so we had to park across the street and drag our luggage through gravel. Once at the building we had to carry our heavy luggage up steps to get through the front door. The interior had heavily worn and filthy carpets throughout. The walls desperately need a fresh coat of paint. The pool was almost empty of water and had a significant amount of debris in it. The inside of our room had similar conditions of uncleanliness and wear. The bathroom was even worse. At night the sound of (gushing water?) kept me up. It sounded like we were sleeping next to the Niagara falls. If you'd like to exfoliate please use the towels provided after your shower. They were very old and very rough. They need replacement immediately. If you have options, stay anywhere else.

Not the best in my particular room. Property is just very outdated and the “updates” seemed to be a tv and new caulking around half the bathroom. Everything else looks like 70’s or 80’s with appropriate wear and especially tear. Staff was GREAT! Breakfast was dismal at best with good coffee but there are terrible stains and rips in the carpet and upholstery. THE POOL IS UNDER MAINTENANCE AND IS CLOSED, just in case you want to know before you get there. Call first. Hoping to get a refund after paint chip fell on me and landscapers woke me up outside my window because it didn’t close all the way nor was there a handle to close it. Good luck!

I bet it was a beautiful hotel at one time especially with the indoor pool. Need some refurbishing definitely need to use laundry softener for your towels.

Decent stay for the money
We arrived very late on a Thursday night. The front desk person was very friendly. We got to our room and it was decent. For the money, it was worth it. We were just doing a weekend trip to Salem, so really we were just sleeping there. We did not have cleaning service come in during our stay as we had the do not disturb sign on the door. The bathroom was adequate. We had a small fridge a d a microwave. The fridge worked too well and froze our drinks overnight, so we had to adjust the temp. Parking was interesting as it is under the building and additional parking across the street. We were never up early enough for breakfast. All in all, it was a decent stay.

Room was clean but the ceiling had deteriorated (top floor). Breakfast ran from 6:30 to 8:30, odd hours for a Sunday morning. The menu was limited and the coffee was gone by 7:30 with no attendant to refill it.

I really appreciate the front desk who waited for our very late check-in pass mid-night. He then showed his friendly smile to the following morning breakfast again! Thank you for your kindness! However, the water in bathroom was not hot. Maybe we didn't find any special control. We had a very short night stay so it didn't bother us a lot.
