Both travellers and locals often head over to Lueneburg. This destination is 10 kilometres to the south and quite close to Luene Abbey, the German Salt Museum and the Brewery Museum. If you're staying a little while, remember to stop by Michaeliskirche Lueneburg and the Deutsches Salzmuseum.

Your eyes shouldn't get to have all the fun while you're in Luneburg Heath. Give your taste buds a little TLC too by digging into some of the local food and drink. After all, you can't say you've truly experienced a destination until you've tasted its flavours.
