Over being an armchair traveller? Keen to experience the real deal? Budukan is the perfect place to start. It sits among the gorgeous forests, rivers, lakes and mountains of Jewish Autonomous Oblast. (You'll have to step off the beaten path a little, but that's what travelling is all about!)

It sits 6,000 kilometres southeast of the nation's capital, Moscow.
