Holidays in Bujaraloz

Bujaraloz is a place with stacks of cool stories to tell. If you reckon your life's been a bit dull lately, a trip here is the perfect answer!

You can find one of Spain's most important cities just a few hours from Bujaraloz. Andorra la Vella is situated 180 kilometres to the northeast.

Are you into stopping at Rueda Monastery and Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion Church? They're close to the centre of Sastago, 15 kilometres to the southwest. Alternatively, head to Caspe. It's 25 kilometres to the southeast of Bujaraloz and popular for Torre de Salamanca and Torre de Turlan.

Whether it's for a bit of retail therapy or to take in the sights, visitors often make the trip out to Alcaniz, 40 kilometres to the south. Plaza de Espana, Calatravos Castle and Rinconada del Sabor are all close at hand. Of course, you shouldn't miss the Fuente de los 72 caños and the Monumento al tambor either.

To really experience a place is to taste the local food and drink, so get ready to crunch, munch, slurp and sip your way through Zaragoza. The only thing you need to take with you is a strong appetite!

A traditional ingredient in the cuisine here is olive oil. Another is almonds. Give them a try if they're not a part of your food repertoire already.

Don't miss the opportunity to sample chireta (spanish haggis) or bacalao al ajo arriero (baked cod with garlic). These traditional dishes come highly recommended by the locals.

Dessert is always OK on holiday, so why feel guilty for indulging in a little bizcocho de calatayud (sponge cake)? It's worth every delicious calorie!

Dedicated travellers often put in the effort to learn a few phrases in the local tongue. You'll find that being able to speak with the local people isn't just convenient, it's great fun too! To start, try to get your mouth around 'Buenos días'. It translates to 'good morning'. 'Bien gracias, ¿y tú?', which means 'fine thanks, and you?', is another one you may need.

If you have the good luck to be in Bujaraloz on the 12th of October, get ready to party! National Day sees crowds of locals joining together to celebrate.

You may be poor in European euros when your holiday comes to an end, but you'll be rich in extraordinary experiences. "Adiós" Bujaraloz!

Barcelona International Airport (BCN) is the closest terminal, 190 kilometres to the east. Ensure you have more than enough time to get there.

"The Hostel is in the middle of nowhere and seems to be in the centre of a massive quarry. The room was okay apart from the toilet not fixed down the shower head was loose so it sprayed water over the shower cubicle, the tap in the sink was loose. and the noise from the other guests late at night ..."
