Comfortable bed and spacious room. Noisy at night but not surprising as the rooms are above the bar and restaurant. Parking facilities were good and staff friendly and helpful.
Breakfast a little disappointing as there was no hot food available. None the less would stay again if in the area.
The room satisfied our overnight needs. Unfortunately had we known about the steps leading down to the bedroom, then back up to the bathroom, we would have booked a different room. We had to have a light on so we could see when we got up in the night. Due to the age of the property, there were wooden beams which were low. The one over the window is really low, and my husband bent down to put his shoes on, only to stand up and bang his head, very hard. I thought he was going to pass out. I had to drive home as a precaution. Our friends room’s window was higher. If we returned, which is a possibility, we would request a different room. Ear plugs were supplied for the noise from the clock tower.
Room was nice with everything you need, thought we would have Sunday lunch when we arrived but we were told it would be busy at 7 so we went straight in. Food was OK but nothing special, soup had a skin on it and 2 pieces of bread which were very dry, whilst we were eating the staff were moving the chairs and tables around behind us but dragging them so it was noisy and not raxing, Lol. Also at breakfast the cleaner was hoovering whilst we ate so again noisy. It's a lovely place but just needs a bit more fitness in the bar/restaurant.
The stay was comfortable and quiet. The only problem we had was we were not given a key fob and was given a code to open the door when they were not open. The numbers given did not work and therefore we were locked out at 2100 hours in the pouring rain for several minutes and only gained access when another guest arrived who had been supplied a fob. This should not have happened and was a bad slip by management.
Have stayed here a number of times. Well maintained to modern standards, though it is an old building, so it has some quirks, like a low door frame and unexpected steps. Staff welcoming and efficient.
Room was spacious, and clean.
Bathroom was a nice size room and clean
A bit noisy but that was expected as our room was above a pub bar, but it all quiet down when it closed.
A continental breakfast was offered…..
Always a pleasure to stay. Good excellent & a special mention to the lady who seemed to do everything-checked us in, showed us to our room, served dinner. She was brilliant!
Spacious, comfortable room. We stayed in the petticrows room. Very quiet (apart from clock chimes)
Friendly service, breakfast was delivered from a local cafe, arrived hot and was lovely.
Would definitely stay here again
