Inside is clean. Outside needs a good power washing and use a blower before guests arrive to get rid of cobwebs, bugs, dust, and leaves. Walk to dock is very steep, to the point of not wanting to do it at all. The online pictures make the place look more impressive than it is.

Family get away
Ok place. Smaller than i thought especially the downstairs. Not well equipped for someone with phsyical limits to be able to fully enjoy. But accommodated us well for sleep and meals. Hot tub not turned on so was cold and could not enjoy the evening we got there. Taking stuff downstair to the rooms was a little challenge due to spiral stairs. So son in law drove down to unload but had a hard time getting back up even in a off road pickup. Going to and from dock sucked. Especially with items to go out on a boat or with a toddler.

Great Place for Family Celebration!
We stayed at this property to celebrate our parents' 50th wedding anniversary, and we had a lovely time! The house was clean, and had a very well-equipped kitchen which we appreciated since we had a lot of meals to prepare. There were plenty of towels (including three beach towels) provided. Our boys (8 and 10) especially loved the tent beds downstairs. Having kayaks and a canoe available was great, and the marina was very close, so renting a pontoon boat was easy. We also took advantage of the inner tubes and pool noodle available at the house. Be sure to bring shampoo/conditioner/body wash/laundry detergent, as these items are not provided. We had a great stay!

Stay during stormy weather
Wish we had a way to control the weather. The week had thunderstorms and tornado threats most of the week. That caused lake levels to be 2 to 3 ft higher than normal, a very unusual occurrence, according to locals. The house was very comfortable. The spiral staircase was a little bit of a child hazard, but there was a gate at the top of the stairs (2 yr old figured out how to unlock within the first hour in the house and still no mishaps.) The walkway down to the dock is extremely steep and would not recommend for elderly or people who have difficulty with physical activity. Once there though, fishing was good, enjoyed the kayak and sat on the dock enjoying the lake. Overall our stay at the Big Bobber Fish Camp with our family was fun and relaxing. I would recommend the house to people without elderly and for children 4 and above.

Incredible place
This place is amazing. One thing not noticeable in the posting though is just how much of an incline this property is on. It is a very steep grade down to the lake and the dock. The area was amazing. The neighbors are friendly and wow are the views breathtaking.

Fun weekend on Lake Barkley
Had a great stay with friends and family. Property was clean and well maintained. Access to the dock and Lake was as advertised. This is a neighborhood, so more people nearby than I expected, but they were friendly and no loud groups. Had a great time!

Beginning of summer fun!
Time spent on the lake is priceless. We spent most of our time either on the deck or in the water, off the dock or off our pontoon rental from Lake Barkley Marina. Gorgeous view and very peaceful. We certainly got our exercise going down to the dock and back up to the house. We are grateful for this rental, it met all our needs. We were impressed with the kitchen. Definitely would like to come back.

We had an overall good experience. Plenty of room, boat dock was great . I would suggest going to the boat launch first. The road to the house is very narrow and sharp turns. It was very hard to get our F350 and boat down the road. Almost impossible 🤦‍♀️

Family of 7 enjoyed our stay despite the poor Housekeeping.
The Location, and Amenities were very good. the House and the location were just what we were looking for, the walkway to the dock and the boat slip were steep but the concrete made it really nice. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, also caught some fish from the dock. House has some close neighbors but did not see anybody at home during our stay. The whole house is in need of a good cleaning we had to clean the fridge/freezer before we put our food in it when we arrived, as well as some of the drawers in the Kitchen, would have been a 5 star + if it would have been clean. we had a great time despite the dirt.

We had so much fun together in this house! The stairs could be a bit cumbersome for some and the walk down and up the hill from the dock isn't for everyone, but we managed well with our group. The house is beautiful and ample space to spread out and also spend time together. We'll be back!

1st annual Jarrell Vacation
We had An amazing stay. Having the kids and grandkids made it even better. The frogs were so fun to play with and we saw a Bald eagle. Having a dock was perfect because we had 5 kayak/paddle boards. We felt safe leaving them on the dock overnight. The rules list did make us feel like we had to do more than we expected (removing the bedding and making sure all the towels were washed and dried). Otherwise we would have left the house clean as we are not slobs but I get that not everyone has the respect for other people’s property. We did feel like the back porch and upper deck could have been swept and spider webs removed prior to our arrival. Walk to the Dock: Let’s talk about the walk to and from the dock. It is steep and if it is wet it is darn near impossible to walk it with shoes on. I feel like I got a (needed) workout but it is definitely worth considering unless you have a golf cart. Bring your own soap, toilet paper and paper towels. We were provided with one roll of the absolute cheapest toilet paper and paper towels. Not even a hotel bar of soap. We always bring our own toilet paper anyway. We enjoyed the lower deck mostly but the stars from the upper deck are breathtaking. The memories are priceless.

Spacious house on the lake with excellent dock.
This 4 bedroom/ 2BA house is located in the Blue Springs area of Lake Barkley with excellent access either by boat or car to the State Park Marina (boat fuel, bait, sundries, rental boats). The dock is in good condition and the owners have put fenders on the outside of the slips where guests are to dock their boat. The inlet has plenty of water depth is very quiet in terms of neighbors and boat traffic. There is a good quality swim ladder as well as electric outlets if you need to recharge a troll motor. As everyone comments, the concrete ramp leading down from the house is indeed quite steep. and in wet weather could be slippery; we found it easier to serpentine across the grass. Anyone with significant walking limitations would not be able to access the dock. There is a firepit located near the water's edge, but there are no chairs, so you would have to carry chairs/firewood down the steep walkway to be able to use the firepit. The house main floor is very comfortable and the kitchen has been renovated with lots of granite, an oversized stove and refrigerator, 2 drawer dishwasher. Furniture is clean and comfortable. The AC works very well and rooms have ceiling fans. Wifi also fine for email/surfing (didn't try to stream). There were extra towels and a huge stack of beach towels in the hall closet. Starter dishwasher, hand soap, garbage bags provided. The master bedroom is on the main floor along with a full bath. The other 3 bedrooms and 1 full bath are located on the lower floor. It is important to note that access to these rooms is by way of a very tight spiral staircase. Again, anyone with mobility issues would NOT be able to use this space. This should be better noted in the property description. There is a large deck spanning the width of the house on the main floor with new rocking chairs and comfortable folding chairs as well as a grill, and table and chairs for dining. I gave the house 4 stars for cleanliness because the concrete pad outside of the downstairs bedrooms as well as the walkway to the dock was strewn with tree debris - understandable after a storm, but that had not been the case immediately prior to our arrival. The house interior was clean. With all rentals there are things that could be improved: a 2nd nightstand in the master bedroom with a lamp, mixing bowls for the kitchen, again general patio cleanup. But we rented mostly for dock use and location on the lake - this was VERY good.

Great house in great location
The house is beautiful and well supplied. The location to the lake is wonderful and close to the lodge and marina. The walk down to the dock/lake is a bit steep but it is paved. The dock is large and has to boat lifts which came in very handy for us after having motor trouble. Phyllis was great to work with and very responsive. I would gladly stay here again.

Wonderful Lake House - we'd stay again!
We enjoyed our stay! This home is on a calm lake inlet where we enjoyed taking out our kayaks (nobody was on the lake in late March, even though the weather was fine!). The kitchen has the needed tools. The beds were comfortable as was the home. Several reviews say the back yard to the lake was steep. Yes, it was, though we had no problem taking 70 lb double kayaks up and down the slope. We are somewhat fit and in our 40's, and our kids are teenagers - it was steep but not an issue. We had a nice fire at the fire pit too, where there was some wood cut for us (though the details said we shouldn't count on that). There are a few things that would've made things nicer: 1) A fireplace was advertised and would've been nice on a cool evening. Apparently, it hasn't worked for over 2 years and the owner has no plans to fix it. 2) Some board games, puzzles, yard games, etc. would be nice. The kitchen had equipment - other stuff for fun wasn't really there - need to bring your own. 3) Newer towels and bedding would be great. Soap for the shower/bath was also expected and not there. 4) The laundry detergent or fabric softener used on the linens was overwhelmingly strong. If you're sensitive to smells, it could be a real issue (I never got used it and now all my clothes smell like it). Overall, the stay was great and the view was stellar. A few minor tweaks and updates would've easily made this a 5 for us.

Property Manager is very helpful and attentive but the property itself could use a bit of cleaning and updating. The spiral stairs to the basement are not meant for everyone, nor is the hike to the dock. The view, however, is gorgeous and the deck is wonderful.
