This is a nice, recently renovated hotel. Great indoor pool and jacuzzi. Beautiful view (we stayed in an ocean view, 2nd floor room with a balcony). Appreciated the coin laundry!

Stay for the hot tub!
The hotel is very nice. It has a great pool and hot tub. The check in staff was very friendly. I will say i called the day before to allow my friend to check in. I gave the person my credit card for all charges and incidentals. I was a little upset they still took my friends credit card information. Other places have not done that when i call and set up a check in for someone. The beds are extremely hard like sleeping on plywood and the hot water in the shower was kind of low temperature at certain times. Small details. Over all the hotel is updated, clean, and friendly. The quiche at breakfast was delicious

We stayed here for a night en route to Bar Harbor/Acadia from Portland; although there wasn’t much to do in the immediate area around the property (have to drive into Belfast for dining/shops), it was a perfect spot to break up the drive. Our toddler loved the pool and I was impressed how clean and well stocked the area was even on a busy night. It was even nicer when we had the pool to ourselves the next morning and could enjoy the peaceful harbor views from the hot tub. Our clean comfortable room also had a nice ocean view as did the breakfast area. Breakfast was convenient and well-managed and all the staff and service was great.

If you’re willing to drive 75 minutes to Acadia, this is an excellent alternative to staying in overpriced and overcrowded Bar Harbor. The drive is quite beautiful so it’s really not so bad, especially if you’re driving electric. Also, the hip town of Belfast is wayyy interesting. Dos Gatos is a groovy spot for tacos and bespoke cocktails. My two suggestions for the Belfast Harbor Inn would be : 1) better coffee 2) more variation in the morning breakfast menu. It’s a good fast delivery breakfast, but the creative owners might find some additional breakfast options to rotate in. For example, Chinese buns or quick fix egg sandwiches or even 6” pizzas. Just throwing it out there. Overall, well done Bar Harbor Inn!

We had a water view which was worth a few extra dollars. The reception upon arrival left something to be desired. Not terrible, but certainly unenthusiastic. A smile would have gone a long way! The breakfast was good, but very unusual system. They didn’t put any food out where you could help yourself; you had to go to a window around the corner and ask for what you wanted but there were restrictions. We aren’t big eaters, so they didn’t matter, but it was weird. It seemed stingy.

The staff were all super friendly--I have never stayed at a place where the staff was so helpful and nice! The hotel was clean and quiet, and the breakfast was very good...loved the mini quiche they offered.

Staff was not friendly, aside from Dee that we saw only in our last couple days. They walked around without speaking and did not say good morning or welcome back at all as we were coming and going. Made my elderly mother and my kids and I feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The access to the beach behind the Inn was nice, but we will not be returning.

Love it!
I love this property. Its name is an Inn but it is as good and clean as hotels. Hot water was hot enough and the room was warm enough even though I didn't use the heater. Even shampoo, conditioner and soap were good. Also, an excellent view. Highly recommend this inn. Much better than other common franchise inns or motels.
