Attractions and Hotels Near Campus

If you're a proud carrier of the wanderlust gene (no duh, you're here right?), then you won't want to miss out on seeing more of the Illinois region. Nature lovers should visit some of Campus' amazing lakes. A few other gotta-sees are nature museums, history museums and gardens. If the sun is shining (or even if it's not), you could also try your hand at some popular local activities like mountain biking and rock climbing.

Caviar or corn chips? However you prefer to roll, you're certain to enjoy a trip to Pontiac, 30 kilometres away. With the Pontiac-Oakland Automobile Museum and the International Wall Dog Mural and Sign Art Museum to explore, you won't be bored here. If you want to spend a few nights in Pontiac, consider the Quality Inn Pontiac and Best Western Pontiac Inn. 40 kilometres to the north of Campus you can also stay at Morris, home to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Morris and Comfort Inn. If you're staying in Morris, be sure to check out William G. Stratton State Park and Goold Park.

The Joliet Iron Works Historic Site, the Harrah's Casino and Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park are just a couple of the cool visitor attractions in Joliet. This regional centre is 55 kilometres north of Campus and has a population of 150,000. The Rialto Square Theater and the Joliet Area Historical Museum are a few more which are sure to offer up some envy-inducing photo ops. You've got a great selection of hotels in Joliet, with the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Joliet South and Fairfield Inn & Suites Joliet North/Plainfield topping out the list.

If you want to stay near the airport, see if you can get a room at the Holiday Inn Bloomington-Airport or the Parke Regency Hotel & Conference Cntr. BW Premier Collection. And if you can't be bothered looking it up, Central Illinois Regional Airport can be found 80 kilometres from downtown Campus.
