Great place for a home base for Banff National Park
Wish I could rate this 4.5 stars. It is a well-equipped, nice and clean little condo. Close enough (20-25 minutes) to the town of Banff, without having to deal with the hundreds and hundreds of people there. The bed was comfortable, as was the living space. It's a pretty small condo, but spacious enough for a couple. The owner wisely turned a second BR (on the first floor) into a dining area. There's a BR and bath upstairs and the kitchen, living area and another bath on the first floor. There's no A/C, but by keeping the shades and windows closed during the day, and opening at night, it was certainly comfortable. The owner offers a fan or two, and there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom, so we were never too warm. I noticed when we pulled in that this condo overlooked the pool area, and thought "Uh-oh: Noise City", but there is a STRICT rule of no noise after 10pm and we were never bothered by noise at all! Parking in a covered garage was a very nice plus. The owner provides a National Park Pass which saves you a considerable amount, AND lets you cruise right into the park without waiting in line. Watch the signs going into the park, and stay in the RIGHT lanes. Don't make the mistake I made on Day 1 and get in line.
As stated in the property description, the mountain views are spectacular! And there is a small balcony to sit and enjoy the view.
The only things that keep this from 5 "solid" stars are fairly minor: The bathrooms are really small. NY City-apartment-sized. Carpet is getting a little worn in the living area, but no worse than many hotel rooms. But I would certainly recommend this property for anyone wanting to visit Banff National Park.
