We arranged to arrive 1 day early before our organized group tour of S Africa. The hotel on request arranged for private car to pick us up at airport after our international flight. When we checked in early, we learned the hotel was completely full. They had upgraded our room for the night to the top floor’s priority suite. We waited for a few hours in the roof bar and pool area while our suite was prepared for us. When the front desk heard that we were celebrating our 50th anniversary we were surprised to find a lovely cake and delightful card from the staff when we arrived in our suite. Truly exceptional service. Next day we joined our escorted tour and moved to the standard hotel room for the next 5 days which was clean, well appointed with everything perfect. We found all the staff-housekeeping, restaurant, and concierge to be professional and polite. The only downside to staying in the downtown area is safety outside of the hotel. We were warned by the concierge to never walk around alone and we heeded that advice, taking a cab to the beautiful waterfront a few minutes away. The African people we met there are caring, friendly and joyful. So happy we took this trip!

I usually do not write reviews unless I had an exceptionally good time or bad time. In this case I had a terrible time. The hotel is clean, and looks nice in hindsight, but there is a large internal problem. My money was stolen at this property. The staff seemed to be responsive in trying to help me launch an investigation and now I have yet to hear anything. I spoke to a few other people and they’ve stated that their money has been stolen at this same hotel. I do not recommend staying here as there are many other hotels in South Africa and around the area. A considerable amount of money was stolen and in all my travels this has never happened to me. Just be careful if you choose to stay here.

Misleading. A lot of friction with check in proces
Very high friction at the check in desk. The room on the website that includes breakfast, was not registered the same on the hotels system. The check in clerk was very rude, and wanted to put surcharges to our room because of their new found policy ( that again does not align with Hotels.com's terms ). We booked the 3 bedroom apartment that has breakfast included, but the hotel only allows for 2 breakfasts for the room.
