Check in was smooth. We went to the room only to realise that the heating wasn’t working . Called the receptionist and she said someone would come to check no sign , called back to find out the receptionist says that she is been told that the heating in that room is not working and so we had to change our room. Got the keys to a different room again the heaters didn’t work .The engineer comes to check there is no power ( got it fixed) . Next day went out when we came back at 4 no housekeeping had been in the room till I called to check and someone was sent. The toilet kept blocking. Over all the service has fallen below the standards that Marriott has set . I am incredibly appalled and will never go back to Marriott Cardiff I’d rather stay in a Travel lodge and get good service.

Stayed 1 night as we were going to a concert in the Utilitia which, was only a 5 min walk away. Can’t fault the hotel it was perfect - Browns bar and restaurant attached was an added bonus. Breakfast excellent, staff helpful and relaxed. Car parking also perfect.

Staff great, rooms very tired and dated.
Firstly, the reception staff and the concierge Richard were wonderful. The Browns bar and restaurant were great. However, the rooms are very old and tired. Damaged floor tiles tiles on the walls that have been filled from olspd shower curtains, the shower was so low not one of us could stand under the shower, the towel rail is the sam as the one my grandmother had in the 70’s and the windows were from the same era.

Just disappointed
1) Note in the room that the robes can be used, but will be charger if taken. There were no robes in the room 2) pillow/ bed was so uncomfortable 3) fridge was missing. Cupboard was there for the fridge. 4) room facing very noisy street wasn’t warned about this. Noise finally stopped around 4am

Property is in a good location and the room was comfortable, although with no drawer space for clothes whatsoever (in our superior room). There was a mini fridge with nothing in it and only instant coffee in the room. Very basic for this standard hotel. Service was generally slow and not helpful. I will look at other options in future.

Nice staff, poor quality rooms
Common areas were really nice. Room was a good size but no desk so just a lot of empty floor space. Bed was super hard and uncomfortable and stained. Air conditioning did not work or turn on so had to have window open which led to us being disturbed all night. Staff super friendly

Room was average for the price, when using the bathroom the sink didn’t drain properly and the bath had a temperature cap of 50 degrees so ended up being quite cold. However the bed was extremely comfy with the added mattress topper. Outside noise wasn’t an issue but you could clearly hear the people walking down the corridor during the night.
