A fun and different getaway!
We really enjoyed this slightly off-season, relaxed stay on a 36-foot seaworthy sailboat at Carolina Beach. The only big improvement would be more timely communication with the host and directions on parking and other details. (Tip: big wheelbarrows in the parking lot to carry stuff to the boat slip). A tip sheet at the boat, pls! The stove didn't work, so we had a cold dinner, but the host was super responsive on this glitch, and fixed us up with a brand new camp stove in the morning, and let us stay for a few extra hours so we could make an awesome fresh seafood soup for lunch! A better surprise: the marina is really pretty and features a small bar and beautiful tall rec deck area with water and woods vistas to die for, can be enjoyed with a delivered pizza as we saw others do. It was disappointing (especially first thing in the morning) to have to go to the bathroom in the marina, but it wasn't far, just inconvenient. This experience is best if you're already familiar with boat life. Also best for agile folks - and the space is perfect for a couple - it is a boat, after all. Our dog was welcome, which was awesome, and actually learned how to go up and down the ladder to belowdecks! There is *nothing* like enjoying drinks and snacks on board under a beautiful starry sky, and feeling the boat gently rock you to sleep (harbor was very calm). And the sunrise! ♥️ We would love to do this again and recommend this location as long as you know what to expect.

Marina stay
Cozy and fun experience. Great communication and response from the host. Located near the pier for nightly entertainment. On shore bath house was clean and the slip is as close as you could get which helped. The A/C was in need of maintenance but overall a great experience.

Experience on a boat
This was our first time on a boat. The boat was smaller than expected. I would not say this is plus size friendly. If you have teens or pre teens they need to not be football player size. The boat was cute and a very different experience for us. It took a while for the AC to cool down and we had issues with figuring out how to flush the toilet. We did not attempt to try to use the shower. It would be best to leave a detailed instructions list on site or sent prior to checking in. This would be helpful for people who have never been on a boat. Other than that it was a fun experience for the kids to go and brag about at school. The host responded fast with questions when messaged. They were helpful and polite. Thanks for having us !
