Husband, our dog and I celebrated New Year’s here. Easy to walk to where we wanted to go and excellent spot for the dog. The breakfast had lots of options too!

The staff were great & accommodating.
Parking fees are a bit outrageous
$20 to $25/day is fair considering but $36/day is outrageous. This isn’t DC or NY…
I’m pleased with the ease of checking in and the cleanliness of the room was great. It is fantastic to have a kitchen area with small children. We enjoyed the free breakfast. It can be slightly noisy due to surrounding area traffic and it’s adjacent to an empty lot is a bit of an eye sore. However, in a few blocks, you are in the shopping area and restaurants which is great.
Considering the cost, this hotel was underwhelming. We had 4 suites booked. One room was dirty and was missing some furniture. The manager took notes, but that was all. One room had a broken door they couldn’t fix. The occupants were not moved to a different room until the next day. The breakfast buffet had very limited choices and the manager forgot to order waters, so they ran out on day 3 of our 5 night stay. The valet parking was expensive and they didn’t even park our car every night. There was no hot water the first morning and we were told that was normal.
Overall, the staff was friendly and the common areas were clean.

Disliked: Staff & service
The original booked room smelled as if someone had been smoking. We reported it to a staffer and he stated that there weren’t any more rooms. I came downstairs and spoke to another staff member who immediately placed us in another room. I was very disappointed in this first staff member. He clearly lied.
It was very nice my stand. But at the breakfast I would like that it will change all the days, because all the days it’s the same. Also the fruits at the beginning of my stay are variety, but the last 2 days only green apples.
Very clean hotel. Room seemed very clean, However, when I used a black light on the easy chair and desk chair it revealed several stains all over the chair. In my opinion, I assume it was bodily fluids. So I did not sit in the easy chair. I did put towels down on the desk chair. I really think this was a great Hotel. To be fair, every hotel probably has this same issue. Best not to take black light with you.
The hotel itself is in a great location near upper King Street and is close to tons of shopping and great restaurants. The hotel itself is located right between Meeting and King, but the short street it is on is not necessarily scenic. It is a bit of a walk to attractions like the waterfront, South of Broad, and the Battery, but the walk is flat, doable, and takes you through some of the most scenic parts of the city.
As for the hotel itself: the staff was friendly and helpful. It offers a run of the mill continental breakfast buffet that has everything you need. Our room was spacious and had a great view of the Ravenel Bridge. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The only minor complaint we could manufacture is that the furniture was a bit worn. However, it in no way diminished our stay.
We would definitely recommend the hotel
