The Nicholas has a carriage house that has been completely renovated and converted into two beautiful rooms with king-sized beds on the first floor. Although upgraded to provide the modern conveniences of daily life, the brick masonry, millwork, and other historic features have been perfectly preserved and restored to offer guests all the chic and modern amenities you’d expect in your own home with the beauty and history of architecture that is over 225 years old. These rooms have spectacular and unique roof lines and the quality craftsmanship of the 18th century, while providing modern conveniences and upgrades for the best of both worlds.

The front door to your room opens to our outdoor terrace that offers a comfortable sitting area where you can have your morning coffee, enjoy a glass of wine, or have a dip in our pool while taking in the magnificent charm of downtown Charleson’s historic landscape. The carriage house is comfortable and quiet. It is an excellent way to be in the action of the city while enjoying a feeling of seclusion and serenity.

Pleasant experience
We were not quite sure what to expect but all workwed out well and was a pleasant experience. This was our first non-hotel stay in Charleston. The property was nicely updated, clean and nicely appointed. Price did a great job making sure as was good and we had what we needed. The common area is very nice as not alot of room in your room but the by product are the many conversations you have with other guests. I would recommend The Nicholas and would look to return when in Charleston next.

Love the Nicholas!
This place was so cute and in the perfect location! They property manager was so nice and kind and helped me carry in my bags. Their breakfast sandwiches were delicious and the event had a private event where there was free food and wine. I highly recommend it and this will be my spot next time I come to Charleston!
